    28When Saul realized that the LORD was with David and that Michal, Saul’s daughter, loved him,

    11Saul hurled the spear, saying, "I’ll pin David to the wall." But David evaded him twice.

    12Saul was afraid of David because the LORD was with David but had departed from Saul.

    13So Saul removed David from his presence and appointed him as a commander over a thousand men. David led the troops out and brought them back in.

    7Then Jonathan called David and told him everything. He brought David to Saul, and David was once again in Saul’s presence as before.

    8War broke out again. David went out to fight the Philistines and struck them with a great slaughter, causing them to flee before him.

    9But an evil spirit from the LORD came upon Saul while he was sitting in his house with his spear in hand, and David was playing music with his lyre.

    10Saul attempted to pin David to the wall with his spear, but David dodged, and the spear struck the wall. David fled and escaped that night.

    1Saul spoke to his son Jonathan and to all his servants, commanding them to kill David. But Jonathan, Saul's son, held a deep affection for David.

    25Saul replied, 'Say to David, "The king wants no other price for the bride than a hundred Philistine foreskins, to take revenge on his enemies."' Saul’s plan was to have David fall by the hands of the Philistines.

    4He came to the sheepfolds along the way, and there was a cave. Saul went in to relieve himself, while David and his men were sitting in the innermost part of the cave.
