3If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness,
1As for you, speak the things that are consistent with sound teaching.
2Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love, and in perseverance.
21If anyone cleanses themselves from the latter, they will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.
3We give no cause for offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited.
7I wish that all people were as I am. But each has his own gift from God, one of one kind and one of another.
8To the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to remain as I am.
11But you, man of God, flee from these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.
