3But the angel of the LORD told Elijah the Tishbite, 'Go up and meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and say to them, "Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron?"'
4Therefore, this is what the LORD says: 'You will not leave the bed you are lying on. You will surely die.' And Elijah departed.
5When the messengers returned to the king, he asked them, 'Why have you returned?'
6They answered, 'A man came to meet us and said, "Go back to the king who sent you and tell him: This is what the LORD says: 'Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending messengers to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore, you will not leave the bed you are lying on. You will surely die.'"'
7The king asked them, 'What kind of man was it who came to meet you and told you this?'
8They replied, 'He was a man with a garment of hair and a leather belt around his waist.' The king said, 'It was Elijah the Tishbite.'
9Then the king sent a captain with his fifty men to Elijah. He went up to Elijah, who was sitting on the top of the hill, and said to him, 'Man of God, the king says, "Come down."'

25Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, 'Choose one of the bulls and prepare it first, since there are so many of you. Call on the name of your god, but do not set fire to the wood.'

21Elisha returned, took the pair of oxen, and slaughtered them. Using the equipment of the oxen, he cooked the meat and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he got up, followed Elijah, and became his attendant.
31He said, "May God deal with me, be it ever so severely, if the head of Elisha son of Shaphat remains on his shoulders today!"

13Meanwhile, a prophet approached Ahab, king of Israel, and said, 'This is what the LORD says: Do you see this vast army? I will give it into your hand today, and you will know that I am the LORD.'
10Know, then, that not a word of the LORD will fall to the ground that He spoke concerning the house of Ahab. The LORD has done what He promised through His servant Elijah."
9Smoke rose from his nostrils, and consuming fire came from his mouth; burning coals blazed out from him.
24Then the woman said to Elijah, 'Now I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in your mouth is truth.'
