16Elijah said to the king, 'This is what the LORD says: "You have sent messengers to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron—is it because there is no God in Israel to consult? Because of this, you will not leave the bed you are lying on. You will surely die."'
3But the angel of the LORD told Elijah the Tishbite, 'Go up and meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and say to them, "Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron?"'
4Therefore, this is what the LORD says: 'You will not leave the bed you are lying on. You will surely die.' And Elijah departed.
5When the messengers returned to the king, he asked them, 'Why have you returned?'
6They answered, 'A man came to meet us and said, "Go back to the king who sent you and tell him: This is what the LORD says: 'Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending messengers to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore, you will not leave the bed you are lying on. You will surely die.'"'
7The king asked them, 'What kind of man was it who came to meet you and told you this?'
8They replied, 'He was a man with a garment of hair and a leather belt around his waist.' The king said, 'It was Elijah the Tishbite.'
9There he went into a cave and spent the night. The word of the LORD came to him, saying, 'What are you doing here, Elijah?'
5When he arrived, he found the commanders of the army sitting together. He said, 'Commander, I have a message for you.' Jehu asked, 'For which one of us?' He replied, 'For you, commander.'
11Now you tell me, 'Go and say to your master, Elijah is here!'
12But I, your servant, fear that if I leave, the Spirit of the LORD will carry you off to some place I don't know, and when I go to tell Ahab and he cannot find you, he will kill me. Yet I, your servant, have feared the LORD from my youth.
14He went after the man of God and found him sitting under an oak tree. He asked him, 'Are you the man of God who came from Judah?' He replied, 'I am.'
28Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
1Elijah, the Tishbite from the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, "As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in these years, except by my word."
2And the word of the LORD came to him, saying,
15The company of the prophets from Jericho saw him from a distance and said, 'The spirit of Elijah is resting on Elisha.' And they went to meet him and bowed to the ground before him.
16They said to him, 'Look, we have fifty able men among your servants. Let them go and search for your master. Perhaps the Spirit of the LORD has picked him up and set him down on some mountain or in some valley.' But Elisha replied, 'Do not send them.'
13When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak, went out, and stood at the entrance of the cave. Then a voice came to him, saying, 'What are you doing here, Elijah?'
8When Elisha, the man of God, heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, he sent the king this message: 'Why have you torn your clothes? Let Naaman come to me, and he will know that there is a prophet in Israel.'
9So Naaman went with his horses and chariots and stopped at the door of Elisha’s house.
17Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
18'Get up and go down to meet Ahab, king of Israel, who rules in Samaria. He is now in Naboth’s vineyard, where he has gone to take possession of it.
14And now you say, 'Go and tell your master, Elijah is here,' and he will kill me!
7While Obadiah was walking along the road, Elijah met him. Obadiah recognized him, bowed to the ground, and said, "Is it really you, my lord Elijah?"
8Elijah replied, "It is I. Go and tell your master, 'Elijah is here.'"
9But Obadiah said, "What have I done wrong that you are handing your servant over to Ahab to be killed?"
16So Obadiah went to meet Ahab and told him, and Ahab went to meet Elijah.
12Jehoshaphat said, "The word of the LORD is with him." So the king of Israel, Jehoshaphat, and the king of Edom went down to him.
13So the king said, "Go and see where he is, so I can send men to capture him." When he was told, "He is in Dothan,"
9So the king of Israel called an officer and said, 'Quickly bring Micaiah son of Imlah.'
7Elisha came to Damascus, and Ben-Hadad, the king of Aram, was sick. It was reported to him, "The man of God has come all the way here."
19Elijah left from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve pairs of oxen, and he was with the twelfth pair. Elijah passed by him and threw his cloak over him.
20Elisha left the oxen, ran after Elijah, and said, 'Let me kiss my father and mother goodbye, and then I will follow you.' Elijah said to him, 'Go back, for what have I done to you?'
31He said, "May God deal with me, be it ever so severely, if the head of Elisha son of Shaphat remains on his shoulders today!"
32Now Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him. The king sent a messenger ahead, but before he arrived, Elisha said to the elders, "Do you see how this murderer is sending someone to cut off my head? Look, when the messenger arrives, shut the door and hold it shut against him. Is not the sound of his master's footsteps behind him?"
53So King Solomon sent men, and they brought Adonijah down from the altar. He came and bowed to King Solomon, who said to him, "Go to your home."
42So Ahab went up to eat and drink, but Elijah went up to the top of Mount Carmel, crouched down to the ground, and put his face between his knees.
2Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, 'May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I don’t make your life like the life of one of them.'
1This is what the LORD says: Go down to the house of the king of Judah and deliver this message there.
1After many days, the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying, "Go and present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the land."
36At the time of the evening offering, Elijah the prophet approached and said, "LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known today that You are God in Israel, that I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your command.
7But a man of God came to him and said, 'O king, do not let the army of Israel go with you, for the LORD is not with Israel—not with any of the people of Ephraim.'
13Meanwhile, a prophet approached Ahab, king of Israel, and said, 'This is what the LORD says: Do you see this vast army? I will give it into your hand today, and you will know that I am the LORD.'
1Behold, a man of God came from Judah by the word of the LORD to Bethel, and Jeroboam was standing by the altar to offer incense.
