However, they buried him, for they said, 'He is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the Lord with all his heart.' And there was no one in Ahaziah’s family strong enough to retain the kingdom.
20The watchman reported, 'He has reached them, but he has not returned. The driving is like that of Jehu son of Nimshi—he drives furiously!'
21Joram ordered, 'Hitch up my chariot.' When it was hitched up, Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his own chariot, to meet Jehu. They found him on the plot of land that had belonged to Naboth the Jezreelite.
22When Joram saw Jehu, he asked, 'Do you come in peace, Jehu?' Jehu replied, 'How can there be peace as long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft are so many?'
23Joram turned around and fled, calling out to Ahaziah, 'Treachery, Ahaziah!'
24Then Jehu drew his bow with full strength and shot Joram between his shoulders. The arrow pierced his heart, and he sank down in his chariot.
25Then Jehu said to Bidkar, his officer, 'Take him and throw him on the plot of land that belonged to Naboth the Jezreelite. Remember how you and I were riding together behind Ahab his father when the LORD pronounced this judgment against him.'
27When Ahaziah king of Judah saw this, he fled along the road to Beth-haggan. Jehu pursued him, shouting, 'Shoot him too!' They struck him in his chariot on the way up to Gur near Ibleam, but he fled to Megiddo and died there.
13They quickly took their garments, spread them under him on the bare steps, blew the trumpet, and proclaimed, 'Jehu is king!'
16Anoint Jehu son of Nimshi as king over Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from Abel Meholah to be prophet in your place.
17Anyone who escapes the sword of Hazael will be put to death by Jehu, and anyone who escapes the sword of Jehu will be put to death by Elisha.
11So Jehu struck down all who remained of Ahab’s house in Jezreel—all his great men, close acquaintances, and priests—leaving not a single survivor.
12Then Jehu set out and went to Samaria. Along the way, he came to Beth-Eked of the Shepherds.
13There, Jehu met the relatives of Ahaziah, king of Judah, and asked, "Who are you?" They answered, "We are the relatives of Ahaziah, and we have come to greet the sons of the king and the queen mother."

16In the fifth year of Joram son of Ahab, king of Israel, while Jehoshaphat was king of Judah, Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat became king of Judah.

5When he arrived, he found the commanders of the army sitting together. He said, 'Commander, I have a message for you.' Jehu asked, 'For which one of us?' He replied, 'For you, commander.'
17When Jehu arrived in Samaria, he struck down all who remained of Ahab’s household in Samaria until he had destroyed them, according to the word of the LORD spoken through Elijah.
34As for the rest of the deeds of Jehu—everything he did and all his might—are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
35Jehu rested with his ancestors and was buried in Samaria. And his son Jehoahaz succeeded him as king.

30The LORD said to Jehu, "Because you have done well in executing what is right in my eyes and have carried out all that was in My heart against the house of Ahab, your descendants will sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation."
31But Jehu did not walk in the law of the LORD, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He did not turn from the sins that Jeroboam had caused Israel to commit.
6So King Jehoram left Samaria at that time and mustered all Israel.
1The inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah, his youngest son, king in his place, because the raiders who had come with the Arabs into the camp had killed all the older sons. So Ahaziah, son of Jehoram, king of Judah, became king.
29In the eleventh year of Joram son of Ahab, Ahaziah had become king of Judah.
11When Jehu went out to the servants of his master, they asked, 'Is everything alright? Why did this madman come to you?' He replied, 'You know the sort of man and his babble.'
22Hazael king of Aram oppressed Israel throughout the reign of Jehoahaz.
24Jehoram rested with his ancestors and was buried with them in the City of David. His son Ahaziah succeeded him as king.
