    48When the Philistine arose and came forward to meet David, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet the Philistine.

    49David reached into his bag, took out a stone, slung it, and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown to the ground.

    50So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone. Without a sword in his hand, he struck down the Philistine and killed him.

    13Once again the Philistines raided the valley.

    14David inquired of God again, and God replied, "Do not go directly after them. Instead, circle around them and attack them in front of the balsam trees.

    15As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, move out to battle, for God has gone ahead of you to strike down the Philistine army."

    16David did as God commanded him, and they struck down the Philistine army from Gibeon to Gezer.
