24The following day they entered Caesarea. Cornelius was waiting for them and had called together his relatives and close friends.
25When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell at his feet, and worshiped him.
29That is why I came without objection when I was sent for. Now may I ask why you sent for me?
30Cornelius replied, 'Four days ago at this very hour, I was fasting and praying in my house at three in the afternoon, and suddenly a man in shining clothes stood before me.
31He said, 'Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your acts of charity have been remembered before God.
32Send someone to Joppa and summon Simon, who is called Peter. He is staying as a guest in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea.'
33So immediately, I sent for you, and you were kind enough to come. Now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to say.
3saying, 'You went to uncircumcised men and ate with them.'
4But Peter began to explain it to them step by step, saying:
5'I was in the city of Joppa praying, and I saw in a trance a vision: something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to me.
6As I looked closely at it, I noticed four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles, and birds of the air.
7I also heard a voice saying to me, ‘Get up, Peter; kill and eat.’
27While talking with him, Peter went inside and found many people gathered.
