    24then you shall bring both of them to the gate of that city and stone them to death: the young woman because she did not cry out in the city, and the man because he violated another man’s wife. You must purge the evil from among you.

    25But if a man finds a betrothed young woman in the countryside, and forces her and lies with her, only the man who has done this shall die.

    26You shall do nothing to the young woman; she has committed no sin deserving death. This case is like when a man rises against his neighbor and murders him.

    27For he found her in the field, and though the betrothed young woman cried out for help, there was no one to rescue her.

    28If a man finds a young woman who is a virgin and not betrothed, and he seizes her and lies with her, and they are discovered,

    29then the man who lay with her shall give fifty shekels of silver to the young woman’s father, and she shall become his wife. Because he has violated her, he can never divorce her as long as he lives.
