19They shall fine him a hundred shekels of silver and give them to the young woman's father, because this man has given an Israelite virgin a bad name. She shall remain his wife, and he can never divorce her as long as he lives.

20But if the accusation is true and there is no proof of the young woman's virginity,

21then they shall bring the young woman to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones. She has committed a disgraceful act in Israel by being promiscuous while in her father’s house. You must purge the evil from among you.

22If a man is found lying with another man’s wife, both the man and the woman who were together must die. You must purge the evil from Israel.

23If there is a young woman who is a virgin betrothed to a man, and another man finds her in the city and lies with her,

24then you shall bring both of them to the gate of that city and stone them to death: the young woman because she did not cry out in the city, and the man because he violated another man’s wife. You must purge the evil from among you.

25But if a man finds a betrothed young woman in the countryside, and forces her and lies with her, only the man who has done this shall die.

26You shall do nothing to the young woman; she has committed no sin deserving death. This case is like when a man rises against his neighbor and murders him.

27For he found her in the field, and though the betrothed young woman cried out for help, there was no one to rescue her.

28If a man finds a young woman who is a virgin and not betrothed, and he seizes her and lies with her, and they are discovered,

29then the man who lay with her shall give fifty shekels of silver to the young woman’s father, and she shall become his wife. Because he has violated her, he can never divorce her as long as he lives.

16The father shall say to the elders, 'I gave my daughter to this man to be his wife, and now he has turned against her.'

17And now he has made false accusations against her, saying, 'I did not find your daughter to be a virgin.' But here is the evidence of my daughter's virginity.' Then they shall spread out the cloth before the elders of the city.
