The man was speechless. 13 Then the king told the attendants, 'Tie him hand and foot, and throw him out into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' 14 For many are invited, but few are chosen.

    10In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.

    11Then He said, 'There was a man who had two sons.'

    12The younger one said to his father, 'Father, give me my share of the estate.' So he divided the property between them.

    13Not long after, the younger son gathered all he had and traveled to a distant country, where he squandered his wealth in reckless living.

    14After he had spent everything, a severe famine arose throughout that country, and he began to be in need.

    15So he went and attached himself to one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs.

    16He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.

    17But when he came to his senses, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have more than enough bread, but here I am dying from hunger!

    18I will rise up and go to my father and say to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.

    19I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants.’

    20And he rose up and went to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion; he ran, embraced him, and kissed him.

    21The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.'

    22But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.
