33Listen to another parable. There was a landowner who planted a vineyard, put a fence around it, dug a winepress in it, and built a watchtower. Then he leased it to tenant farmers and went away.
34When the time came to harvest the fruit, he sent his servants to the tenants to collect his fruit.
35But the tenants seized his servants. They beat one, killed another, and stoned a third.
37Finally, he sent his son to them. 'They will respect my son,' he said.
38But when the tenant farmers saw the son, they said to one another, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and take his inheritance!'
39So they seized him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.
40Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenant farmers?
41They said to him, 'He will bring those wretches to a miserable end and lease the vineyard to other farmers who will give him the fruit at the proper times.'
9Then he began to tell the people this parable: 'A man planted a vineyard, leased it to some farmers, and went away for a long time.
10At harvest time, he sent a servant to the farmers so they would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the farmers beat him and sent him away empty-handed.
11He proceeded to send another servant, but they also beat him, treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed.
12Then he sent a third one, but they wounded him also and threw him out.
13Then the owner of the vineyard said, 'What should I do? I will send my beloved son. Perhaps they will respect him.'
14But when the farmers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, 'This is the heir. Let’s kill him so that the inheritance will be ours.'
15So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them?'
16He will come and destroy those farmers and give the vineyard to others. When they heard this, they said, 'May it never happen!'
1He began to speak to them in parables. A man planted a vineyard, built a fence around it, dug a pit for the winepress, and constructed a tower. Then he leased it to farmers and went on a journey.
2At the appointed time, he sent a servant to the farmers to collect from them some of the fruit of the vineyard.

7But those farmers said to one another, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.'
8So they took him, killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard.

4Again, he sent other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited: Look, I have prepared my banquet; my oxen and fattened animals have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast.'
5But they paid no attention and went away, one to his field, another to his business.
6The rest seized his servants, mistreated them, and killed them.
7The king was enraged. He sent his army, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.
8Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding banquet is ready, but those invited were not worthy.'
28What do you think? A man had two sons. He went to the first and said, 'Son, go work today in the vineyard.'

11When they received it, they began to grumble against the landowner.

46the master of that servant will come on a day he does not expect and at an hour he does not know. He will cut him in pieces and assign him a place with the unfaithful.
2He agreed to pay them a denarius for the day and sent them into his vineyard.
