  • 13So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the sword.

  • 20For it was the LORD's purpose to harden their hearts to engage in battle with Israel, so that they would be utterly destroyed, receiving no mercy, as the LORD had commanded Moses.

  • 5The LORD will deliver them to you, and you must act toward them according to the entire commandment I have instructed you.

  • 27Then he said to them, "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'Each man put his sword on his side. Go back and forth through the camp, from gate to gate, and kill your brother, your friend, and your neighbor.'"

  • 31Then the anger of God rose against them, and He killed the strongest among them, striking down the young men of Israel.

  • 19You will destroy every fortified city and every major town, cut down every good tree, stop up all the springs, and ruin every good field with stones.
