It consumed Ar of Moab, the rulers of the high places of the Arnon. 29 Woe to you, Moab! You have been destroyed, O people of Chemosh! He has given up his sons as fugitives and his daughters as captives to Sihon, king of the Amorites. 30 But we overthrew them; Heshbon as far as Dibon is destroyed. We devastated Nophah, which reaches to Medeba. 31 So Israel lived in the land of the Amorites. 32 Moses sent men to spy out Jazer, and they captured its surrounding settlements, driving out the Amorites who were there. 33 They turned and went up by the way to Bashan. Og, king of Bashan, came out with all his people to meet them in battle at Edrei. 34 But the LORD said to Moses, 'Do not be afraid of him, for I have given him into your hand, along with all his people and his land. Do to him as you did to Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon.' 35 So they struck down Og, his sons, and all his people, leaving no survivors. Then they took possession of his land.

Og, king of Bashan, came out with all his people to confront us in battle at Edrei. 2 The LORD said to me: 'Do not be afraid of him, for I have handed him over to you along with all his people and his land. Do to him as you did to Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon.' 3 So the LORD our God also gave us Og, king of Bashan, and all his people. We struck them down until no survivors remained. 4 We captured all his cities at that time—there was not a city we did not take from them—sixty cities in all, the entire region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. 5 All these cities were fortified with high walls, gates, and bars, besides many unwalled rural towns. 6 We completely destroyed them, just as we had done to Sihon, king of Heshbon. In every city, we destroyed the men, women, and children. 7 But we kept all the livestock and the spoils of the cities for ourselves. 8 At that time, we took the land from the two Amorite kings across the Jordan, from the Arnon Gorge to Mount Hermon. 9 (The Sidonians call Hermon 'Sirion,' and the Amorites call it 'Senir.') 10 We captured all the cities of the plateau, all of Gilead, and all of Bashan as far as Salecah and Edrei—cities of Og's kingdom in Bashan. 11 For only Og, king of Bashan, remained from the remnant of the Rephaim. Look, his bed was made of iron and is still in Rabbah of the Ammonites. It is nine cubits long and four cubits wide, according to the standard cubit.

Come up to us quickly and save us! Help us, for all the kings of the Amorites living in the hill country have gathered against us.” 7 So Joshua marched up from Gilgal with all the warriors and the mighty men of valor. 8 And the LORD said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them. I have given them into your hand; not one of them will be able to stand against you.” 9 After marching all night from Gilgal, Joshua took them by surprise. 10 And the LORD threw them into panic before Israel, and Joshua and his forces inflicted a great defeat on them at Gibeon. They pursued them along the road to the Beth-horon ascent and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah. 11 As they fled before Israel down the road from Beth-horon to Azekah, the LORD hurled large hailstones down on them from heaven, and they died. More of them died from the hailstones than were killed by the swords of the Israelites. 12 On the day the LORD gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua spoke to the LORD in the presence of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.”
