  • Josh 11:4-8 : 4 They came out with all their armies, a vast number of people as numerous as the sand on the seashore, along with a large number of horses and chariots. 5 All these kings joined forces and came together to camp at the waters of Merom to fight against Israel. 6 The LORD said to Joshua, 'Do not be afraid of them, for by this time tomorrow I will deliver all of them slain before Israel. You are to hamstring their horses and burn their chariots in the fire.' 7 So Joshua and all his warriors came against them suddenly at the waters of Merom and attacked them. 8 The LORD gave them into the hand of Israel, who struck them down and pursued them as far as Greater Sidon, Misrephoth Maim, and the valley of Mizpeh to the east. They struck them down until no survivors remained.
  • Josh 14:12 : 12 So now give me this hill country the LORD promised me on that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakim are there and their cities are large and fortified. Perhaps the LORD will be with me, and I will drive them out as the LORD said.
  • Judg 7:2 : 2 The LORD said to Gideon, "You have too many people with you for me to hand Midian over to them, lest Israel boast against me, claiming, 'My own strength has delivered me.'
  • Judg 7:12-25 : 12 Midian, Amalek, and all the people of the east were lying in the valley as thick as locusts. Their camels were too numerous to count, like the sand on the seashore. 13 When Gideon arrived, he overheard a man telling his companion about a dream. He said, "Listen, I had a dream: a round loaf of barley bread tumbled into the Midianite camp, struck a tent with such force that it collapsed and fell completely flat." 14 His companion responded, "This can only mean the sword of Gideon son of Joash, a man of Israel. God has delivered Midian and the entire camp into his hands." 15 When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he bowed down in worship. He returned to the Israelite camp and said, "Get up! The LORD has given the Midianite camp into your hands." 16 Gideon divided the three hundred men into three groups. He placed trumpets and empty jars, with torches inside the jars, into the hands of all of them. 17 He said to them, "Watch me and do as I do. When I get to the edge of the camp, do exactly as I do. 18 When I and all who are with me blow our trumpets, then you also blow your trumpets all around the camp and shout, 'For the LORD and for Gideon!'" 19 Gideon and the hundred men with him reached the edge of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just after the guards had been changed. They blew their trumpets and smashed the jars in their hands. 20 The three groups blew their trumpets and broke the jars. Holding the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands, they shouted, "A sword for the LORD and for Gideon!" 21 Each man stood in his place around the camp, and the Midianites ran, crying out as they fled. 22 When the three hundred trumpets sounded, the LORD caused the men throughout the camp to turn on each other with their swords. The army fled to Beth Shittah toward Zererah, as far as the border of Abel Meholah near Tabbath. 23 The men of Israel from Naphtali, Asher, and all Manasseh were called out, and they pursued the Midianites. 24 Gideon sent messengers throughout the hill country of Ephraim, saying, "Come down and attack the Midianites. Capture the waters around Beth Barah and the Jordan." So all the men of Ephraim were called out, and they secured the waters as far as Beth Barah and the Jordan. 25 They captured the two princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb. They killed Oreb at the rock of Oreb and Zeeb at the winepress of Zeeb. They pursued the Midianites and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon, across the Jordan.
  • 1 Sam 14:8-9 : 8 Jonathan said, 'Look, we will cross over to the men and let them see us.' 9 If they say to us, 'Wait there until we come to you,' we will stay in our place and not go up to them. 10 But if they say, 'Come up to us,' we will go up, for the Lord has handed them over to us. That will be our sign. 11 So both of them showed themselves to the Philistine garrison, and the Philistines said, 'Look, the Hebrews are coming out of the holes they were hiding in!' 12 The men of the garrison called to Jonathan and his armor-bearer, 'Come up to us, and we will teach you a lesson!' So Jonathan said to his armor-bearer, 'Climb up after me, for the Lord has given them into the hand of Israel.' 13 Jonathan climbed up on his hands and feet, with his armor-bearer behind him. The Philistines fell before Jonathan, and his armor-bearer followed and finished them off. 14 In that first attack, Jonathan and his armor-bearer struck down about twenty men in an area of about half an acre of land. 15 Then panic struck the whole Philistine camp, those in the field, the outposts, and the raiding parties, and the ground trembled. It was a panic sent by God. 16 Saul's lookouts at Gibeah of Benjamin saw the Philistine army melting away in all directions.

I will strike you down and cut off your head. I will give the corpses of the Philistines’ army today to the birds of the sky and the wild animals of the earth. Then the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.' 47 'And all those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle belongs to the LORD, and He will give you into our hands.' 48 When the Philistine arose and came forward to meet David, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet the Philistine. 49 David reached into his bag, took out a stone, slung it, and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown to the ground.
  • 2 Sam 21:16-22 : 16 Ishbi-Benob, one of the descendants of Rapha, whose spear weighed three hundred bronze shekels and who was armed with a new weapon, said he would kill David. 17 But Abishai, son of Zeruiah, came to David's aid. He struck the Philistine and killed him. Then David's men swore to him, saying, "Never again will you go out with us to battle, so that you do not extinguish the lamp of Israel." 18 After this, there was another battle with the Philistines at Gob. At that time, Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Saph, a descendant of Rapha. 19 In another battle with the Philistines at Gob, Elhanan son of Jaare-Oregim the Bethlehemite struck down Goliath the Gittite, whose spear shaft was like a weaver’s rod. 20 In still another battle, which took place at Gath, there was a huge man with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in total. He too was descended from Rapha. 21 He taunted Israel, but Jonathan son of Shimea, David’s brother, struck him down. 22 These four were descendants of Rapha in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and his men.

On the seventh day, the battle began, and the Israelites struck down 100,000 Aramean foot soldiers in one day.

Help us, Lord our God, for we rely on You, and in Your name we have come against this vast army. Lord, You are our God; do not let mere humans prevail against You." 11 The Lord struck down the Cushites before Asa and Judah, and the Cushites fled. 12 Asa and the people who were with him pursued them as far as Gerar. The Cushites fell until there was no one left alive, for they were crushed before the Lord and His army. They plundered all the cities, for there was a great amount of loot in them.
