37Saul inquired of God, "Shall I go down after the Philistines? Will You deliver them into the hand of Israel?" But He did not answer him that day.
38Saul said, "Come here, all you leaders of the people, and find out how this sin has happened today.
23For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has also rejected you from being king.
24And Saul said to Samuel, I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and your words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
4Then Saul said to his armor-bearer, "Draw your sword, and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me." But his armor-bearer would not, for he was greatly afraid. Therefore Saul took a sword and fell upon it.

41Therefore Saul said to the LORD God of Israel, "Give a perfect lot." And Saul and Jonathan were taken, but the people escaped.
42Saul said, "Cast lots between me and Jonathan my son," and Jonathan was taken.
43Then Saul said to Jonathan, "Tell me what you have done." Jonathan told him, "I only tasted a little honey with the end of the rod that was in my hand; and now I must die."
44Saul said, "God do so and more also, for you shall surely die, Jonathan."
9And Saul said, Bring here a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.
10And it came to pass, as soon as he had finished offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might greet him.
11And Samuel said, What have you done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you did not come within the appointed days, and that the Philistines gathered at Michmash,
12Therefore I said, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not sought the favor of the LORD; I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.
13And Samuel said to Saul, You have done foolishly; you have not kept the commandment of the LORD your God, which he commanded you: for now the LORD would have established your kingdom upon Israel forever.
14But now your kingdom shall not continue: the LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the LORD has appointed him to be captain over His people, because you have not kept what the LORD commanded you.
35And Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and the LORD regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel.
10Then came the word of the LORD to Samuel, saying,
13And Saul said to him, Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread, and a sword, and have enquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
31For as long as the son of Jesse lives on the ground, you shall not be established, nor your kingdom. Therefore now send and bring him to me, for he shall surely die.
20Then Saul fell immediately full length on the ground, and was very afraid because of the words of Samuel: and there was no strength in him, for he had eaten no bread all day nor all night.
19Why then did you not obey the voice of the LORD, but flew upon the spoil, and did evil in the sight of the LORD?
14But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.
26And Samuel said to Saul, I will not return with you: for you have rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you from being king over Israel.

8The next day, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, they found Saul and his three sons fallen on Mount Gilboa.
33Then they told Saul, "Look, the people are sinning against the LORD by eating with the blood." He said, "You have transgressed; roll a large stone to me today."
34Then Saul said, "Disperse yourselves among the people and say to them, 'Bring every man his ox and every man his sheep, and slaughter them here, and eat, and do not sin against the LORD by eating with the blood.'" So all the people brought every man his ox with him that night and slaughtered them there.
6And Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan; and Saul swore, As the LORD lives, he shall not be killed.
17And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son:
1And Saul spoke to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.
10And it came to pass on the next day, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul's hand.
30Then he said, I have sinned: yet honor me now, I pray you, before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD your God.
31So Samuel turned again after Saul; and Saul worshipped the LORD.
