26And Samuel said to Saul, I will not return with you: for you have rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you from being king over Israel.
1And the LORD said to Samuel, How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for myself a king among his sons.
5And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he killed his servants who had killed the king his father.
4And David said to him, How did the matter go? Please, tell me. And he answered, The people have fled from the battle, and many of the people are also fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead as well.
5And David said to the young man who told him, How do you know that Saul and Jonathan his son are dead?
1And Saul spoke to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.
4Then Saul said to his armor-bearer, 'Draw your sword and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me.' But his armor-bearer would not, for he was very afraid. So Saul took a sword and fell upon it.
5And when his armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he likewise fell on the sword and died.
35And Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and the LORD regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel.

12And the people said to Samuel, "Who is he that said, 'Shall Saul reign over us?' bring the men, that we may put them to death."
31When the words that David spoke were heard, they repeated them before Saul, and he sent for him.
8That all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that shows me that my son has made a league with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or shows to me that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
10David said furthermore, "As the LORD lives, the LORD will strike him, or his day will come to die, or he shall go down into battle and perish."
10When someone told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead, thinking he was bringing good news, I took hold of him, and killed him in Ziklag, who thought that I would have given him a reward for his news.
41Therefore Saul said to the LORD God of Israel, "Give a perfect lot." And Saul and Jonathan were taken, but the people escaped.
10Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, The LORD has not chosen these.
