And Samuel said to Saul, I will not return with you: for you have rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you from being king over Israel.

6But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed to the LORD.
7And the LORD said to Samuel, Listen to the voice of the people in all that they say to you: for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
34Then Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went up to his house to Gibeah of Saul.
35And Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and the LORD regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel.

11It grieves Me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried to the LORD all night.
12And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and behold, he set up a place for himself, and has gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal.
13And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said to him, Blessed are you of the LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD.
15And Samuel said to Saul, Why have you disturbed me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am in great distress; for the Philistines make war against me, and God has departed from me and does not answer me anymore, neither by prophets nor by dreams. Therefore I have called you, that you may make known to me what I shall do.
16Then Samuel said, Why do you ask me, seeing the LORD has departed from you and has become your enemy?
17The LORD has done to you as he spoke by me: for the LORD has torn the kingdom out of your hand and given it to your neighbor, to David.
18Because you did not obey the voice of the LORD, nor execute his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore the LORD has done this thing to you today.
19Moreover, the LORD will also deliver Israel with you into the hand of the Philistines. Tomorrow you and your sons shall be with me: the LORD will also deliver the army of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.
1And the LORD said to Samuel, How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for myself a king among his sons.
2And Samuel said, How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me. And the LORD said, Take a heifer with you, and say, I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.
1Samuel also said to Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint you to be king over His people, over Israel: now therefore listen to the voice of the words of the LORD.
19Why then did you not obey the voice of the LORD, but flew upon the spoil, and did evil in the sight of the LORD?
20And Saul said to Samuel, Yes, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.
16Then Samuel said to Saul, Stay, and I will tell you what the LORD said to me this night. And he said to him, Speak on.
17And Samuel said, When you were little in your own sight, were you not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed you king over Israel?
18And you shall cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves; and the LORD will not hear you in that day.
19Nevertheless, the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, No, but we will have a king over us,

27And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand still a while, that I may show you the word of God.
7But the LORD said to Samuel, Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have refused him: for the LORD sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.
13So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he did not keep; and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to inquire of it;
14And he did not inquire of the LORD. Therefore He killed him and turned the kingdom to David the son of Jesse.
37Saul inquired of God, "Shall I go down after the Philistines? Will You deliver them into the hand of Israel?" But He did not answer him that day.
12And Saul was afraid of David, because the LORD was with him, and had departed from Saul.
15Now the LORD had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,
14But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.
17And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said to him, Behold the man who I spoke to you of! this same shall reign over my people.
1And Samuel said to all Israel, Behold, I have listened to your voice in all that you said to me, and have made a king over you.
21Then Saul said, "I have sinned. Return, my son David, for I will harm you no more because my life was precious in your eyes this day. Behold, I have played the fool and have erred exceedingly."
31For as long as the son of Jesse lives on the ground, you shall not be established, nor your kingdom. Therefore now send and bring him to me, for he shall surely die.
6You have forsaken me, says the LORD, you have gone backward: therefore I will stretch out my hand against you, and destroy you; I am weary with repenting.
