5For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you—
9Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are experienced by your brethren in the world.
10But the God of all grace, who has called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
11To Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

15Moreover, I will make every effort that you may always remember these things after my departure.
