Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it on his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD has anointed you to be captain over His inheritance?

22And the LORD said to Samuel, Listen to their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said to the men of Israel, Each of you go to your city.
6And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you, and you shall prophesy with them, and will be turned into another man.
7Nathan said to David, You are the man. Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul.
14But now your kingdom shall not continue: the LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the LORD has appointed him to be captain over His people, because you have not kept what the LORD commanded you.
16And David said to him, Your blood be upon your head; for your mouth has testified against you, saying, I have slain the LORD'S anointed.
16And you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi to be king over Israel, and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah shall you anoint to be prophet in your place.
13Now therefore behold the king whom you have chosen, and whom you have desired! and, behold, the LORD has set a king over you.
37And I will take you, and you shall reign according to all that your soul desires, and shall be king over Israel.
