10I will be your king: where is any other that may save you in all your cities? and your judges of whom you said, Give me a king and princes?
21And afterward they desired a king: and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.
12And the people said to Samuel, "Who is he that said, 'Shall Saul reign over us?' bring the men, that we may put them to death."
19And you have this day rejected your God, who Himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and you have said to Him, No, but set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes, and by your thousands.
16Then Samuel said to Saul, Stay, and I will tell you what the LORD said to me this night. And he said to him, Speak on.
17And Samuel said, When you were little in your own sight, were you not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed you king over Israel?
18And Samuel told him everything, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the LORD; let him do what seems good to him.
17The LORD has done to you as he spoke by me: for the LORD has torn the kingdom out of your hand and given it to your neighbor, to David.
14Then Samuel said to the people, "Come, and let us go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there."
9And it happened, that when he turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day.
3Therefore, all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD, and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the LORD through Samuel.
15And Saul's uncle said, Tell me, please, what Samuel said to you.
1Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it on his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD has anointed you to be captain over His inheritance?
27And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand still a while, that I may show you the word of God.
10And the LORD came and stood and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for your servant hears.
1And the LORD said to Samuel, How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for myself a king among his sons.
13And Samuel said to Saul, You have done foolishly; you have not kept the commandment of the LORD your God, which he commanded you: for now the LORD would have established your kingdom upon Israel forever.
14But now your kingdom shall not continue: the LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the LORD has appointed him to be captain over His people, because you have not kept what the LORD commanded you.
3And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do: and you shall anoint for me him whom I name to you.
6And Samuel said to the people, It is the LORD that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.
1And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.
