6 But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed to the LORD.
7 And the LORD said to Samuel, Listen to the voice of the people in all that they say to you: for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

25 But if you shall still do wickedly, you shall be consumed, both you and your king.
36 The LORD shall bring you, and your king whom you shall set over you, unto a nation which neither you nor your fathers have known; and there you shall serve other gods, wood and stone.
8 And now you think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David; and you are a great multitude, and with you are golden calves, which Jeroboam made for you to be gods.
