Then he himself went to Ramah, and came to the great well that is in Sechu; and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And someone said, Behold, they are at Naioth in Ramah.

11 And as they went up the hill to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw water, and said to them, Is the seer here?
12 And they answered them and said, He is; behold, he is before you: make haste now, for he came today to the city; for there is a sacrifice of the people today in the high place.
13 As soon as you come into the city, you shall find him immediately, before he goes up to the high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he comes, because he blesses the sacrifice; and afterward those who are invited eat. Now therefore go up; for about this time you shall find him.
14 And they went up to the city: and when they came into the city, behold, Samuel came out towards them, to go up to the high place.
15 Now the LORD had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,

6 When Saul heard that David was discovered, and the men that were with him, (now Saul stayed in Gibeah under a tree in Ramah, having his spear in his hand, and all his servants were standing about him;)
14 And he said to her, What form does he have? And she said, An old man comes up, and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he bowed with his face to the ground.
15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why have you disturbed me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am in great distress; for the Philistines make war against me, and God has departed from me and does not answer me anymore, neither by prophets nor by dreams. Therefore I have called you, that you may make known to me what I shall do.
22 Therefore they inquired of the LORD further, if the man should yet come there. And the LORD answered, Behold, he has hidden himself among the equipment.
1 And Samuel died; and all the Israelites gathered together, and mourned him, and buried him at his house in Ramah. And David arose and went down to the wilderness of Paran.
2 And Samuel said, How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me. And the LORD said, Take a heifer with you, and say, I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.
31 When the words that David spoke were heard, they repeated them before Saul, and he sent for him.
3 Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had mourned him and buried him in Ramah, in his own city. And Saul had expelled those with familiar spirits and the wizards from the land.

5 And David arose and came to the place where Saul had camped. And David saw where Saul lay, and Abner the son of Ner, the captain of his army. Saul lay within the camp, and the people were camped around him.
11 Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father's house, the priests that were in Nob: and they all came to the king.
12 And Saul said, Hear now, you son of Ahitub. And he answered, Here I am, my lord.
15 And Saul sent the messengers again to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may kill him.
8 And Saul disguised himself, and put on different clothing, and he went with two men, and they came to the woman by night. And he said, Please, divine for me by the familiar spirit, and bring up for me the one whom I shall name to you.
11 Then the woman said, Whom shall I bring up for you? And he said, Bring up Samuel for me.
12 When the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice, and the woman spoke to Saul, saying, Why have you deceived me? For you are Saul.
4 And David said to him, How did the matter go? Please, tell me. And he answered, The people have fled from the battle, and many of the people are also fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead as well.
5 After that you shall come to the hill of God, where the garrison of the Philistines is: and it shall happen, when you come there to the city, that you shall meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tambourine, and a flute, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy:
17 And Saul recognized David's voice and said, "Is this your voice, my son David?" And David said, "It is my voice, my lord, O king."
10 And it came to pass, as soon as he had finished offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might greet him.
6 And he said to him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honorable man; all that he says surely comes to pass: now let us go there; perhaps he can show us the way we should go.
13 Then David went over to the other side and stood on the top of a hill a great distance away, a large space being between them.
