And Saul answered, I am in great distress; for the Philistines make war against me, and God has departed from me and does not answer me anymore, neither by prophets nor by dreams.     16Then Samuel said, Why do you ask me, seeing the LORD has departed from you and has become your enemy?

    17The LORD has done to you as he spoke by me: for the LORD has torn the kingdom out of your hand and given it to your neighbor, to David.

    20Then Saul fell immediately full length on the ground, and was very afraid because of the words of Samuel: and there was no strength in him, for he had eaten no bread all day nor all night.

    21And the woman came to Saul, and saw that he was very troubled, and said to him, Behold, your maidservant has obeyed your voice, and I have put my life in my hand and have listened to your words which you spoke to me.

    22Now therefore, please listen also to the voice of your maidservant, and let me set a morsel of bread before you; and eat, that you may have strength when you go on your way.

    11And Samuel said, What have you done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you did not come within the appointed days, and that the Philistines gathered at Michmash,

    12Therefore I said, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not sought the favor of the LORD; I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.

    13And Samuel said to Saul, You have done foolishly; you have not kept the commandment of the LORD your God, which he commanded you: for now the LORD would have established your kingdom upon Israel forever.

    17And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said to him, Behold the man who I spoke to you of! this same shall reign over my people.

    18Then Saul drew near to Samuel in the gate and said, Tell me, I pray you, where the seer's house is.

    19And Samuel answered Saul and said, I am the seer: go up before me to the high place; for you shall eat with me today, and tomorrow I will let you go, and will tell you all that is in your heart.

    11It grieves Me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried to the LORD all night.
