Now I, Paul, myself plead with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you:

10Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord has given me for edification, and not for destruction.
21What do you want? Shall I come to you with a rod, or in love and a spirit of gentleness?

10Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
11I have become a fool in boasting; you have compelled me, for I ought to have been commended by you. For in nothing am I behind the very chief apostles, though I am nothing.
1Be imitators of me, just as I am of Christ.
5For I consider that I am not in any way inferior to the very chief apostles.
5For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in the spirit, rejoicing to see your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.
7But we were gentle among you, just as a nurse cherishes her children:
10Now I plead with you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
18For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in making the Gentiles obedient by word and deed,
8For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Jesus Christ.
13For in what way were you inferior to other churches, except that I myself was not burdensome to you? Forgive me this wrong.
27Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
6For though I would desire to boast, I shall not be a fool; for I will speak the truth. But now I refrain, lest anyone should think of me above that which he sees me to be, or that he hears of me.
13Therefore I ask that you not faint at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
15Nevertheless, brethren, I have written to you more boldly in part, to remind you, because of the grace given to me by God,
23Moreover, I call God as a witness upon my soul, that to spare you I did not come yet to Corinth.
10As the truth of Christ is in me, no one shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.
12That is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
17But the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel.
20I desire to be present with you now and to change my tone; for I have doubts about you.
16I say again, let no one think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast a little.
19Again, do you think that we excuse ourselves to you? We speak before God in Christ, but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edification.
10But you have fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,

22And I urge you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation, for I have written to you in few words.
