8They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made a molten calf, have worshiped it, have sacrificed to it, and have said, 'These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.'"
9The LORD said to Moses, "I have seen this people, and indeed it is a stiff-necked people.
10Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent, and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased.
24And it shall come to pass, that instead of a sweet smell there shall be stench; instead of a sash, a rope; instead of well-styled hair, baldness; instead of a rich robe, a binding of sackcloth; and branding instead of beauty.
18And all the people saw the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off.

9And Moses spoke so to the children of Israel: but they did not listen to Moses because of anguish of spirit and cruel bondage.
31Moses returned to the LORD and said, "Oh, these people have committed a great sin, and have made gods of gold for themselves.
1On the twenty-fourth day of this month, the children of Israel gathered with fasting and wearing sackcloth, and with earth upon them.
12And the LORD said to me, Arise, go down quickly from here; for your people which you have brought out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they have quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made for themselves a molten image.
14And Moses went down from the mount to the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.
24You daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet with other delights, who put on ornaments of gold upon your apparel.
12And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth.

4And the LORD said to Moses, Take all the leaders of the people and hang them up before the LORD in the sunlight, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.
22And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing-hearted, and brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and necklaces, all jewels of gold: and every man that offered, offered an offering of gold to the LORD.
11And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this among you.
20And all the assembly of the children of Israel departed from the presence of Moses.
35The LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf which Aaron made.
