For all those things my hand has made, and all those things have been, says the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is humble and of a contrite spirit, and trembles at my word.

3He that kills an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrifices a lamb, as if he broke a dog's neck; he that offers an offering, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burns incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yes, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations.
7The LORD makes poor and makes rich: he brings low and lifts up.
13Therefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near to me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
16They that see you will look narrowly upon you, and consider you, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that shook kingdoms;
13You said also, Behold, what a weariness it is! and you have sneered at it, says the LORD of hosts; and you brought what was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus you brought an offering: should I accept this from your hand? says the LORD.
23And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, says the LORD.

12Be astonished, O heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be very desolate, says the LORD.
