5 So Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made himself a booth, and sat under it in the shade, until he might see what would become of the city.

11 And should I not spare Nineveh, that great city, where there are more than one hundred twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?
10 Because you have forgotten the God of your salvation, and have not been mindful of the rock of your strength, therefore you shall plant pleasant plants, and set them with strange slips:
11 In the day you shall make your plant to grow, and in the morning you shall make your seed to flourish: but the harvest shall be a heap in the day of grief and desperate sorrow.
14 Therefore they cried to the LORD, and said, We beseech you, O LORD, we beseech you, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for you, O LORD, have done as it pleased you.
15 So they took up Jonah, and threw him into the sea: and the sea ceased from its raging.

6 So the shipmaster came to him, and said to him, What do you mean, O sleeper? arise, call upon your God, perhaps that God will consider us, that we do not perish.
7 And it shall come to pass, that all who look upon you will flee from you, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will mourn for her? From where shall I seek comforters for you?
9 Say thus says the Lord GOD; Shall it prosper? Shall he not pull up its roots and cut off its fruit, that it withers? It shall wither in all the leaves of her spring, even without great power or many people to pluck it up by its roots.
10 Yes, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? Shall it not utterly wither when the east wind touches it? It shall wither in the furrows where it grew.
11 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
6 In the morning it flourishes and grows up; in the evening it is cut down and withers.
1 And the word of the LORD came to Jonah a second time, saying,
2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I give you.
3 So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city of three days' journey.
4 And Jonah began to enter into the city, a day's journey, and he cried out, saying, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them to the least of them.
17 Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
10 And the LORD spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto the dry land.
2 And it came to pass, when they had finished eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord GOD, forgive, I beg you: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.
3 The LORD repented for this: It shall not be, says the LORD.
6 And it grew and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and its roots were under him: so it became a vine and brought forth branches and shot forth sprigs.
12 While it is still green and not cut down, it withers before any other herb.
6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
27 and should sleep and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he does not know how.
17 I struck you with blight and mildew and hail in all the labors of your hands; yet you did not turn to Me, says the LORD.

10 If you will still abide in this land, then I will build you up, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up: for I repent of the evil that I have done unto you.
9 Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.
6 In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening do not withhold your hand, for you do not know which will prosper, either this or that, or whether both will be equally good.
15 And the vineyard which your right hand has planted, and the branch that you made strong for yourself.
11 But the fig tree said to them, Should I forsake my sweetness and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees?
21 Yet I had planted you a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then have you turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine to me?
9 You prepared room before it, and caused it to take deep root, and it filled the land.
4 What more could have been done to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Why, when I looked for it to bring forth grapes, did it bring forth wild grapes?
6 The LORD repented for this: This also shall not be, says the Lord GOD.
