14And it came to pass, when the king of Ai saw it, that they hurried and rose up early, and the men of the city went out against Israel to battle, he and all his people, at a time appointed, before the plain; but he did not know that there were liers in ambush against him behind the city.
15And Joshua and all Israel made as if they were beaten before them, and fled by the way of the wilderness.
24And it happened, when they brought those kings to Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel and said to the captains of the men of war who went with him, Come near, put your feet on the necks of these kings. And they came near and put their feet on their necks.
25Then Joshua said to them, Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed; be strong and of good courage, for the LORD will do this to all your enemies against whom you fight.
22And the others issued out of the city against them; so they were in the midst of Israel, some on this side and some on that side; and they struck them so that none of them remained or escaped.
1And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they moved from Shittim and came to the Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they crossed over.
7And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord GOD, why have you at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? Would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the other side of Jordan!
20And it happened, when Joshua and the children of Israel finished slaying them with a very great slaughter, until they were consumed, that the rest who remained entered into fortified cities.
40So Joshua defeated all the land: the mountain country, the South, the lowland, and the wilderness slopes, and all their kings; he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded.
41And Joshua conquered them from Kadesh Barnea as far as Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even as far as Gibeon.
42All these kings and their land Joshua took at one time, because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel.

5And the men of Ai struck down about thirty-six men: for they chased them from before the gate even to Shebarim, and struck them down on the descent: so the hearts of the people melted, and became as water.
11And all the people, even the people of war who were with him, went up and drew near, and came before the city and camped on the north side of Ai; now there was a valley between them and Ai.
28And he said to them, Follow after me: for the LORD has delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and allowed not a man to pass over.
33Then Horam king of Gezer came to help Lachish; and Joshua struck him and his people, until he left none remaining.
36Then Joshua went up from Eglon, and all Israel with him, to Hebron; and they fought against it.
