And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD, that he did for Israel.

Because you have forsaken the LORD, He has also forsaken you. 21 And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the command of the king in the court of the house of the LORD. 22 So Joash the king did not remember the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but killed his son. And when he died, he said, The LORD look upon it, and require it.

    2Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, cross over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the children of Israel.

    6And Joshua tore his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until the evening, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads.

    7And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord GOD, why have you at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? Would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the other side of Jordan!

  • 9And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands on him: and the children of Israel listened to him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.
