23And you shall not walk in the manners of the nation which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.
2Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, cross over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the children of Israel.
5No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you, nor forsake you.
1The LORD also spoke to Joshua, saying,
6And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man to his inheritance to possess the land.
7And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD, that he did for Israel.

13When the children of Israel grew strong, they put the Canaanites to forced labor, but did not utterly drive them out.
1And it happened a long time after the LORD had given rest to Israel from all their enemies all around, that Joshua grew old and advanced in age.

8And the LORD said to Joshua, Do not fear them, for I have delivered them into your hand; not a man of them shall stand before you.
12Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you anymore, except you destroy the accursed from among you.
34They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD had commanded them.
