5Her adversaries are the chief, her enemies prosper; for the LORD has afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children have gone into captivity before the enemy.
6And from the daughter of Zion all her beauty is departed: her princes have become like deer that find no pasture, and they have gone without strength before the pursuer.
11All her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their pleasant things for food to relieve the soul: see, O LORD, and consider, for I have become vile.
12Is it nothing to you, all you that pass by? Look and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow, which is done to me, with which the LORD has afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
19Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of those who dwell in a far country: Is not the LORD in Zion? Is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their carved images and strange idols?

4Therefore I said, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly, do not labor to comfort me, because of the destruction of the daughter of my people.
17Therefore, you shall speak this word to them: 'Let my eyes flow with tears night and day, and let them not cease; for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow.'
18And let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.
19For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, 'How are we ruined! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out.'
9The women of my people you have cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children you have taken away my glory forever.
14Therefore the LORD has watched over the calamity, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is righteous in all His works which He does: for we have not obeyed His voice.
8Therefore, the wrath of the LORD was upon Judah and Jerusalem, and He has delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as you see with your eyes.
9For behold, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.
8Jerusalem has grievously sinned; therefore she is removed: all that honored her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: yes, she sighs, and turns backward.
9Her filthiness is in her skirts; she does not remember her last end; therefore she came down astonishingly: she had no comforter. O LORD, behold my affliction, for the enemy has magnified himself.
17But if you will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and my eye shall weep bitterly, and run down with tears, because the LORD's flock is taken captive.
13Therefore my people have gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.
2Judah mourns, and its gates languish; they are in mourning on the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem has gone up.
5Now therefore, what have I here, says the LORD, that my people are taken away for nothing? Those who rule over them make them to wail, says the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.
10The elders of the daughter of Zion sit on the ground, and keep silence: they have thrown dust upon their heads; they have girded themselves with sackcloth: the virgins of Jerusalem hang down their heads to the ground.
11My eyes fail with tears, my heart is troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and infants faint in the streets of the city.
31O generation, behold the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness to Israel? a land of darkness? why do my people say, We are lords; we will come no more to you?
19Have You utterly rejected Judah? Has Your soul loathed Zion? Why have You struck us down, and there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of healing, but behold, trouble!
13Therefore thus says the LORD; Ask now among the nations, who has heard such things: the virgin of Israel has done a very horrible thing.
20But, O LORD of hosts, who judges righteously, who tests the heart and the mind, let me see your vengeance on them, for I have presented my case to you.
19Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.
8Therefore I will wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked: I will make a wailing like the jackals, and mourning as the ostriches.
9For her wound is incurable; for it has come to Judah; it has reached the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.
7O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us belongs confusion of face, as it is this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, those near and those far off, through all the countries where You have driven them, because of their trespass which they have trespassed against You.
15And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, says the LORD.
17As keepers of a field, they are against her all around; because she has been rebellious against me, says the LORD.
9I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he pleads my cause and executes judgment for me; he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.
16The crown has fallen from our head; woe to us, for we have sinned!
11Now hear me therefore, and return the captives, whom you have taken captive of your brethren, for the fierce wrath of the LORD is upon you.
8For this gird yourselves with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us.
26O daughter of my people, clothe yourself with sackcloth, and roll in ashes; make lamentation, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation, for the destroyer shall suddenly come upon us.
28The voice of those who flee and escape from the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of his temple.
4In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We are utterly spoiled: he has changed the portion of my people; how has he removed it from me! Turning away, he has divided our fields.
