5And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
17You therefore, beloved, seeing you know these things beforehand, beware lest you also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.
6Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ:
5For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
6Which has come to you, as it is in all the world; and brings forth fruit, as it does also in you, since the day you heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
2For you know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
8For if these things are in you and abound, they make you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
3For I rejoiced greatly when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, even as you walk in the truth.
4Knowing, beloved brothers, your election by God.
10Therefore, brethren, be diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you do these things, you shall never fall:
13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe in the name of the Son of God.
11Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak what we know and testify what we have seen, and you do not receive our witness.
4I rejoiced greatly that I found your children walking in truth, as we received a commandment from the Father.
