Then he said to them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared, for this day is holy to our Lord; do not be sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

18 Also day by day, from the first day until the last day, he read in the book of the law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day there was a solemn assembly, according to the ordinance.

17 On the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.

26 So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem.
16 And the children of Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy,
3 You have multiplied the nation and not increased the joy; they rejoice before you according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
8 You shall not also go into the house of feasting, to sit with them to eat and to drink.
23 And the whole assembly took counsel to keep another seven days: and they kept another seven days with gladness.
7 You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their grain and their wine increased.
11 Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous; shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart.
13 So that the people could not distinguish the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard far away.
5 What will you do in the appointed day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?
47 Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;

15 Seven days you shall keep a solemn feast to the LORD your God in the place which the LORD shall choose: because the LORD your God shall bless you in all your increase, and in all the works of your hands, therefore you shall surely rejoice.
8 Moreover I make a decree as to what you shall do for the elders of these Jews for the building of this house of God: that from the king's goods, even of the tribute beyond the river, expenses be given to these men, so that they are not hindered.
9 And whatever they need—young bulls, rams, and lambs for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the appointment of the priests who are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail:
23 Whatever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?
24 This is the day which the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
