13 O LORD, truly I have built a lofty temple for you, a place where you can live permanently.”
14 Then the king turned around and pronounced a blessing over the whole Israelite assembly as they stood there.
15 He said,“The LORD God of Israel is worthy of praise because he has fulfilled what he promised my father David.
16 He told David,‘Since the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have not chosen a city from all the tribes of Israel to build a temple in which to live. But I have chosen David to lead my people Israel.’
17 Now my father David had a strong desire to build a temple to honor the LORD God of Israel.
18 The LORD told my father David,‘It is right for you to have a strong desire to build a temple to honor me.
19 But you will not build the temple; your very own son will build the temple for my honor.’
2 King David rose to his feet and said:“Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I wanted to build a temple where the ark of the LORD’s covenant could be placed as a footstool for our God. I have made the preparations for building it.
24 You have kept your word to your servant, my father David; this very day you have fulfilled what you promised.
25 Now, O LORD, God of Israel, keep the promise you made to your servant, my father David, when you said,‘You will never fail to have a successor ruling before me on the throne of Israel, provided that your descendants watch their step and serve me as you have done.’
26 Now, O God of Israel, may the promise you made to your servant, my father David, be realized.
27 “God does not really live on the earth! Look, if the sky and the highest heaven cannot contain you, how much less this temple I have built!
4 He said,“The LORD God of Israel is worthy of praise because he has fulfilled what he promised my father David.
10 and during the time when I appointed judges to lead my people Israel. I will subdue all your enemies.“‘“I declare to you that the LORD will build a dynastic house for you!
11 When the time comes for you to die, I will raise up your descendant, one of your own sons, to succeed you, and I will establish his kingdom.
12 He will build me a house, and I will make his dynasty permanent.
27 for you, O LORD of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, have told your servant,‘I will build you a dynastic house.’ That is why your servant has had the courage to pray this prayer to you.
6 He summoned his son Solomon and charged him to build a temple for the LORD God of Israel.
7 David said to Solomon:“My son, I really wanted to build a temple to honor the LORD my God.

38 You must obey all I command you to do, follow my instructions, do what I approve, and keep my rules and commandments, like my servant David did. Then I will be with you and establish for you a lasting dynasty, as I did for David; I will give you Israel.
13 He will build a house for my name, and I will make his dynasty permanent.
2 O LORD, I have built a lofty temple for you, a place where you can live permanently.”
6 He said to me,‘Solomon your son is the one who will build my temple and my courts, for I have chosen him to become my son and I will become his father.

17 Now, O LORD God of Israel, may the promise you made to your servant David be realized.
7 Wherever I moved among all the Israelites, I did not say to any of their leaders whom I appointed to care for my people Israel,“Why have you not built me a house made from cedar?”’
8 “So now, say this to my servant David:‘This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies has said: I took you from the pasture and from your work as a shepherd to make you leader of my people Israel.
25 for you, my God, have revealed to your servant that you will build a dynasty for him. That is why your servant has had the courage to pray to you.
5 Then I will allow your dynasty to rule over Israel permanently, just as I promised your father David,‘You will not fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’
4 “Go, tell my servant David:‘This is what the LORD says:“You must not build me a house in which to live.
25 So now, O LORD God, make this promise you have made about your servant and his family a permanent reality. Do as you promised,
5 “Go, tell my servant David:‘This is what the LORD has said: Do you really intend to build a house for me to live in?
8 They settled down in it and built in it a temple to honor you, saying,
1 David then said,“This is the place where the temple of the LORD God will be, along with the altar for burnt sacrifices for Israel.”
12 “As for this temple you are building, if you follow my rules, observe my regulations, and obey all my commandments, I will fulfill through you the promise I made to your father David.
4 and the LORD will fulfill his promise to me,‘If your descendants watch their step and live faithfully in my presence with all their heart and being, then,’ he promised,‘you will not fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’
9 Now, LORD God, may your promise to my father David be realized, for you have made me king over a great nation as numerous as the dust of the earth.
