7then I will remove Israel from the land I have given them, I will abandon this temple I have consecrated with my presence, and Israel will be mocked and ridiculed among all the nations.
18The LORD’s Response Then the LORD became zealous for his land; he had compassion on his people.
7What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was diligently seeking, but the elect obtained it. The rest were hardened,
8as it is written,“God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, to this very day.”
11The Punishment from God The LORD said to Moses,“How long will this people despise me, and how long will they not believe in me, in spite of the signs that I have done among them?
25As he also says in Hosea:“I will call those who were not my people,‘My people,’ and I will call her who was unloved,‘My beloved.’”
26“And in the very place where it was said to them,‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called‘sons of the living God.’”
10“Therefore, I became provoked at that generation and said,‘Their hearts are always wandering and they have not known my ways.’

18So the LORD said,“Hear, you nations! Be witnesses and take note of what will happen to these people.
26when he said,‘Go to this people and say,“You will keep on hearing, but will never understand, and you will keep on looking, but will never perceive.
9He said,“Go and tell these people:‘Listen continually, but don’t understand! Look continually, but don’t perceive!’
21When the LORD heard this, he was furious. A fire broke out against Jacob, and his anger flared up against Israel,

10“‘You said,“These two nations, these two lands will be mine, and we will possess them,”– although the LORD was there–
