- 2 Chr 30:1-9 : 1 Hezekiah sent word to all Israel and Judah and also wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh, inviting them to come to the house of the LORD in Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover to the LORD, the God of Israel. 2 The king, his officials, and the whole assembly in Jerusalem decided to observe the Passover in the second month. 3 They could not celebrate it at the proper time because not enough priests had consecrated themselves, and the people had not gathered in Jerusalem. 4 This plan seemed right to the king and the whole assembly. 5 So they decided to send a proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, calling the people to come to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover to the LORD, the God of Israel, because it had not been observed in large numbers as prescribed. 6 Couriers went with the letters from the king and his officials throughout Israel and Judah, proclaiming the king’s command: 'Return to the LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, so that He may return to the remnant of you who have escaped from the hand of the kings of Assyria.' 7 Do not be like your ancestors and your brothers, who were unfaithful to the LORD, the God of their ancestors, so that He made them an object of horror, as you can see. 8 Now do not harden your necks as your ancestors did. Submit to the LORD; come to His sanctuary, which He has consecrated forever. Serve the LORD your God so that His fierce anger will turn away from you. 9 If you return to the LORD, your brothers and your children will be shown compassion by those who took them captive, and they will return to this land. For the LORD your God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn His face from you if you return to Him. 10 The couriers went from city to city throughout the land of Ephraim and Manasseh and as far as Zebulun, but the people laughed at them and mocked them. 11 Nevertheless, some people from Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem. 12 In Judah also, the hand of God was at work to give them one heart to obey the command of the king and the officials, in accordance with the word of the LORD. 13 A very large crowd of people assembled in Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread in the second month. 14 They removed the altars in Jerusalem, as well as all the incense altars, and threw them into the Kidron Valley. 15 They slaughtered the Passover lambs on the fourteenth day of the second month. The priests and Levites, ashamed of their neglect, consecrated themselves and brought burnt offerings to the temple of the LORD. 16 Then they stood at their prescribed places, according to the Law of Moses the man of God. The priests sprinkled the blood handed to them by the Levites. 17 Since many in the assembly had not consecrated themselves, the Levites were responsible for slaughtering the Passover lambs for everyone who was not ceremonial clean to dedicate them to the LORD. 18 Although most of the people from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun had not purified themselves, they ate the Passover contrary to what was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, 'May the LORD, who is good, pardon everyone 19 who sets their heart on seeking God—the LORD, the God of their ancestors—even if they are not clean according to the rules of the sanctuary.' 20 And the LORD heard Hezekiah and healed the people. 21 The Israelites who were present in Jerusalem celebrated the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days with great joy, while the Levites and priests praised the LORD day after day with loud instruments dedicated to the LORD. 22 Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites, who showed good understanding of the service to the LORD. They ate throughout the appointed seven days, offering fellowship sacrifices and giving thanks to the LORD, the God of their ancestors. 23 The whole assembly decided to celebrate the festival for another seven days, so they celebrated joyfully for seven more days. 24 Hezekiah king of Judah contributed a thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep for the assembly, and the officials provided a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep. A large number of priests consecrated themselves. 25 The entire assembly of Judah rejoiced, along with the priests and Levites, the whole assembly from Israel, the foreigners who had come from Israel, and those who lived in Judah. 26 There was great joy in Jerusalem, for nothing like this had happened in Jerusalem since the days of Solomon son of David, king of Israel. 27 The priests and the Levites stood to bless the people, and God heard them, and their prayer reached His holy dwelling place in heaven.
- Deut 16:1-8 : 1 Observe the month of Abib and celebrate the Passover to the Lord your God, for it was in the month of Abib that the Lord your God brought you out of Egypt by night. 2 You shall sacrifice the Passover offering to the Lord your God, from your flock and herd, in the place where the Lord chooses to place His name. 3 Do not eat leavened bread with it. For seven days, eat unleavened bread, the bread of affliction, because you left Egypt in haste. This is so that you may remember the day you came out of Egypt all the days of your life. 4 No leaven is to be seen in your territory for seven days, nor is any of the meat from the sacrifice eaten in the evening of the first day to remain overnight until morning. 5 You must not sacrifice the Passover offering in any of the towns that the Lord your God is giving you. 6 Only at the place the Lord your God chooses as His dwelling for His name shall you sacrifice the Passover offering, in the evening, at sunset, at the time you left Egypt. 7 Roast it and eat it in the place the Lord your God chooses. Then in the morning, return to your tents. 8 For six days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a solemn assembly to the Lord your God. You must not do any work.
