  • Gen 39:3-9 : 3 His master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did. 4 Joseph found favor in his master's eyes and became his personal servant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household and entrusted everything he owned to his care. 5 From the time he put Joseph in charge of his household and all that he owned, the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house on account of Joseph. The LORD's blessing was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field. 6 So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph's care; with Joseph in charge, he paid no attention to anything except the food he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance. 7 After some time, his master's wife looked at Joseph with desire and said, "Sleep with me." 8 But Joseph refused and said to his master's wife, "Look, my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; he has entrusted everything he owns to my care. 9 "No one in this house is greater than I am. He has not withheld anything from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?" 10 Though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to lie with her or even be with her. 11 One day, Joseph went into the house to do his work, and none of the household servants was inside. 12 She caught him by his garment and said, "Sleep with me!" But Joseph left his garment in her hand, ran away, and went outside.
  • Neh 13:26-27 : 26 Did not Solomon, king of Israel, sin because of such things? Among the many nations, there was no king like him; he was loved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel. • Prov 5:3-9 : 3 For the lips of a forbidden woman drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil. 4 But in the end, she is as bitter as wormwood, sharp as a double-edged sword. 5 Her feet go down to death; her steps lead straight to the grave. 6 She does not consider the path of life; her ways wander, but she does not know it. 7 Now, my children, listen to me, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. 8 Keep your way far from her, and do not go near the door of her house. 9 Lest you give your vigor to others, and your years to someone cruel; 10 Lest strangers feast on your strength, and your hard-earned wealth end up in the house of a foreigner. 11 At the end of your life you will groan, when your flesh and body are spent. 12 You will say, 'How I hated discipline, and my heart despised correction!' 13 I did not listen to the voice of my teachers or incline my ear to my instructors. 14 I was on the verge of total ruin in the midst of the assembly and the congregation. 15 Drink water from your own cistern, flowing water from your own well. 16 Should your springs be scattered abroad, your streams of water in the public squares? 17 Let them be yours alone, and not for strangers with you. 18 May your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth. 19 A loving doe, a graceful deer—may her breasts satisfy you always, and may you always be captivated by her love. 20 Why, my son, should you be captivated by a forbidden woman or embrace the bosom of a stranger?
