13 Go to King David and say to him, 'My lord the king, did you not swear to your servant, saying, "Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne"? Then why has Adonijah become king?'

24 'And now, as surely as the LORD lives—the one who has established me, seated me on the throne of my father David, and made me a dynasty as He promised—Adonijah shall be put to death today!'
25 Then King Solomon sent Benaiah son of Jehoiada, who struck down Adonijah, and he died.
41 Adonijah and all the guests who were with him heard the sound as they finished their meal. When Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he asked, "Why is there such a commotion in the city?"
49 At this, all the guests who were with Adonijah were terrified; they got up and scattered, each going his own way.
50 But Adonijah, fearing Solomon, went and took hold of the horns of the altar.
51 It was reported to Solomon, "Adonijah is afraid of King Solomon and has taken hold of the horns of the altar, saying, 'Let King Solomon swear to me today that he will not put his servant to death by the sword.'"
32 King David said, "Call Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah son of Jehoiada to me." When they came before the king,
33 the king said to them, "Take my servants with you, have Solomon my son ride on my own mule, and escort him down to Gihon.
15 Then David called one of his young men and said, 'Come here and strike him down.' So he struck him, and he died.

63 And Solomon offered a sacrifice of fellowship offerings to the LORD: twenty-two thousand cattle and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the Israelites dedicated the house of the LORD.
5 King Solomon offered a sacrifice of 22,000 cattle and 120,000 sheep and goats. So the king and all the people dedicated the temple of God.
34 Then he said, 'Go among the men and tell them, ‘Each of you bring me your ox and sheep, and slaughter them here and eat. Do not sin against the Lord by eating meat with blood in it.’' That night, everyone brought their oxen and slaughtered them there.

9 In the morning, he went out, stood before all the people, and said, "You are innocent. I conspired against my master and killed him, but who killed all these?
29 It was reported to King Solomon that Joab had fled to the tent of the LORD and was by the altar. So Solomon sent Benaiah son of Jehoiada, saying, 'Go, strike him down!'
31 The king said to him, 'Do as he says. Strike him down and bury him, and so remove from me and my father's house the guilt of the blood that Joab shed without cause.
13 Now Adonijah, the son of Haggith, came to Bathsheba, the mother of Solomon. She asked, 'Do you come in peace?' And he replied, 'In peace.'
