    7 At that time, Hanani the seer came to King Asa of Judah and said to him, 'Because you relied on the king of Aram and not on the LORD your God, the army of the king of Aram has escaped from your hand.'

    8 Were not the Cushites and the Libyans a mighty army with great numbers of chariots and horsemen? Yet, because you relied on the LORD, He delivered them into your hand.

    9 For the eyes of the LORD roam throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him. You have acted foolishly in this matter. From now on, you will face wars.

    10 Asa was angry with the seer and put him in prison because he was enraged over this. At the same time, Asa oppressed some of the people.

    11 The events of Asa's reign, from beginning to end, are written in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.

    14 When Judah turned, they saw that the battle was in front of them and behind them. They cried out to the LORD, and the priests blew the trumpets.

    15 Then the men of Judah raised a battle cry, and as they shouted, God struck down Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

    16 The Israelites fled before Judah, and God delivered them into their hands.

He restored the altar of the LORD that was in front of the LORD’s temple.

    9 Then he assembled all Judah and Benjamin and those from Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon who had settled among them, for a great number had come over to him from Israel when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.

    2 He removed the foreign altars and the high places, shattered the stone pillars, and cut down the Asherah poles.

    3 He commanded Judah to seek the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and to obey the law and the commandment.

  • 31 When the chariot commanders saw Jehoshaphat, they thought, 'This is the king of Israel!' So they turned to attack him. But Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; God diverted them away from him.

  • 15 All Judah rejoiced over the oath because they had sworn it wholeheartedly. They sought the LORD eagerly, and He was found by them. So the LORD gave them rest on every side.

  • 24 When they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and struck down the Moabites, who fled before them. The Israelites invaded the land and continued to strike down the Moabites.

  • 19 There was no more war until the thirty-fifth year of Asa’s reign.

  • 8 The LORD gave them into the hand of Israel, who struck them down and pursued them as far as Greater Sidon, Misrephoth Maim, and the valley of Mizpeh to the east. They struck them down until no survivors remained.

  • 22 Then King Asa issued a proclamation to all Judah with no exceptions, and they carried away the stones and timber Baasha had used to fortify Ramah. With these materials King Asa built up Geba in Benjamin and Mizpah.
