    17After taking counsel, Amaziah king of Judah sent word to Joash son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, king of Israel, challenging him to meet face to face.

    18But Joash king of Israel replied to Amaziah king of Judah: 'A thistle in Lebanon sent a message to a cedar in Lebanon, saying, "Give your daughter to my son in marriage." Then a wild beast in Lebanon came along and trampled the thistle.'

    5Following their counsel, he went with Jehoram son of Ahab, king of Israel, to fight against Hazael, king of Aram, at Ramoth-Gilead, where the Arameans wounded Jehoram.

    6Jehoram returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds he received at Ramoth while fighting against Hazael, king of Aram. Then Azariah (also called Ahaziah), son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to visit Jehoram, son of Ahab, in Jezreel because he was wounded.
