15 And do not let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD by saying, ‘The LORD will surely rescue us; this city will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.’
4 Perhaps the LORD your God will hear the words of the Rabshakeh, whom his master, the king of Assyria, has sent to mock the living God, and will rebuke him for the words that the LORD your God has heard. Therefore, offer a prayer for the remnant that still survives.
5 So the servants of King Hezekiah went to Isaiah.
28 Then the Rab-shakeh stood and called out loudly in Hebrew, saying, "Hear the words of the great king, the king of Assyria!
29 This is what the king says: ‘Do not let Hezekiah deceive you. He cannot deliver you from my hand.
30 Do not let Hezekiah persuade you to trust in the LORD when he says, ‘The LORD will surely deliver us: This city will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.’
16 Incline Your ear, Lord, and hear; open Your eyes, Lord, and see; listen to the words Sennacherib has sent to taunt the living God.
17 The king of Assyria sent the Tartan, the Rab-saris, and the Rab-shakeh from Lachish to King Hezekiah in Jerusalem with a large army. They came to Jerusalem, stood by the aqueduct of the upper pool on the road to the Launderer's Field, and delivered their message.
18 They called for the king, so Eliakim son of Hilkiah, Shebnah the scribe, and Joah son of Asaph the recorder went out to meet them.
19 Then the Rab-shakeh said to them, "Tell Hezekiah: 'This is what the great king, the king of Assyria, says: What is this confidence you have?'
7 "Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him.
8 With him is only an arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles." The people regained confidence from the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
15 Now do not let Hezekiah deceive you or mislead you in this way, and do not believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my hand or the hand of my ancestors. How much less will your God save you from my hand?
16 His servants continued to speak against the LORD God and against His servant Hezekiah.
17 Sennacherib also wrote letters to ridicule the LORD, the God of Israel, and to say against Him, "Just as the gods of the nations of other lands did not deliver their people from my hand, so the God of Hezekiah will not deliver His people from my hand."
4 Perhaps the Lord your God will hear all the words of the Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria, his master, has sent to taunt the living God, and will rebuke him for the words that the Lord your God has heard. Therefore, lift up a prayer for the remnant that survives."
5 When King Hezekiah's servants came to Isaiah,

18 Truly, LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations and their lands.

18 Do not let Hezekiah mislead you by saying, ‘The LORD will deliver us.’ Have the gods of any nations ever delivered their lands from the hand of the king of Assyria?
5 Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, "Hear the word of the LORD of Armies:
22 Then Eliakim son of Hilkiah, who was over the household; Shebna, the scribe; and Joah son of Asaph, the recorder, came to Hezekiah with their clothes torn and reported to him the words of the Rabshakeh.

16 At that time, King Ahaz sent for help from the kings of Assyria.
