30 Do not let Hezekiah persuade you to trust in the LORD when he says, ‘The LORD will surely deliver us: This city will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.’
13 Be strong, and let us show courage for the sake of our people and the cities of our God. And may the LORD do what is good in His sight.

12 Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.
13 Do you not know what I and my ancestors have done to the peoples of the other lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands able to deliver their land from my hand?
14 Who among all the gods of these nations that my ancestors utterly destroyed was able to deliver his people from my hand, that your God will be able to deliver you from my hand?
15 Now do not let Hezekiah deceive you or mislead you in this way, and do not believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my hand or the hand of my ancestors. How much less will your God save you from my hand?
15 He said: 'Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the LORD says: Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.'
17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions, stand firm, and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.'
10 Devise your plans, but they will be thwarted; issue your orders, but they will not stand, for God is with us.
15 And do not let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD by saying, ‘The LORD will surely rescue us; this city will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.’

12 Be strong, and let us show strength for the sake of our people and the cities of our God. May the LORD do what seems good to Him.
