15I, Daniel, was troubled in my spirit within me, and the visions of my head alarmed me.
16I approached one of those standing there and asked him the truth about all this. So he told me and revealed the interpretation of these things.
17These great beasts, which are four, are four kings that will rise from the earth.
1In the first year of Belshazzar, king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions in his head while on his bed. Then he wrote down the dream and recorded the main points.
2Daniel declared, 'I saw in my vision during the night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea.'
4The first was like a lion and had wings like an eagle. I watched until its wings were plucked off, and it was lifted up from the ground to stand on two feet like a man, and a human heart was given to it.
5Then I saw a second beast, which looked like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And they said to it, 'Arise, devour much flesh!'
6After this, I looked, and behold, there was another beast, like a leopard. It had four wings of a bird on its back, and the beast had four heads. Dominion was given to it.
7After this, I saw in the visions of the night a fourth beast, terrifying, dreadful, and exceedingly strong. It had large iron teeth and devoured, crushed, and trampled the remainder with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that came before it, and it had ten horns.
8I was considering the horns, and behold, another horn, a small one, came up among them. Three of the first horns were uprooted before it. And behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth speaking great things.
6Before the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal. In the middle of the throne and around it were four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind.
7The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature was like an ox, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle.
8Each of the four living creatures had six wings and were covered with eyes all around, even under their wings. Day and night they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, who is, and who is to come."
19Then I wanted to know the truth about the fourth beast, which was different from all the others—exceedingly terrifying, with iron teeth and bronze claws, which devoured, crushed, and trampled the remainder with its feet.
20And about the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn that came up, before which three fell—the horn that had eyes and a mouth speaking great things, and whose appearance was greater than the others.
21As I was watching, that horn made war against the holy ones and was prevailing against them.
22Until the Ancient of Days came and judgment was given in favor of the holy ones of the Most High, and the time came for the holy ones to possess the kingdom.
23He said, 'The fourth beast will be a fourth kingdom on earth, different from all the other kingdoms. It will devour the whole earth, trample it, and crush it.'
24The ten horns represent ten kings who will rise from this kingdom. Another king, different from the previous ones, will rise after them and will subdue three kings.
1Then I saw a beast rising out of the sea. It had seven heads and ten horns, and on its horns were ten crowns, and on its heads were names of blasphemy.
2The beast I saw was like a leopard, its feet were like those of a bear, and its mouth was like a lion's mouth. The dragon gave the beast his power, his throne, and great authority.
3One of the beast's heads appeared to have been fatally wounded, but its mortal wound was healed. The whole earth marveled and followed the beast.
11I continued to watch because of the sound of the boastful words spoken by the horn. I watched until the beast was slain, and its body was destroyed and given over to be burned with fire.
12As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away, but their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.
13I continued watching in the visions of the night, and behold, with the clouds of heaven came one like a son of man. He approached the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him.

7I, Daniel, was the only one who saw the vision. The men who were with me did not see it, but they were overwhelmed with such terror that they ran away to hide.

16Then Daniel, also called Belteshazzar, was stunned for a moment, and his thoughts alarmed him. The king spoke and said, 'Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation trouble you.' Belteshazzar answered, 'My lord, may the dream concern your enemies and its interpretation concern your adversaries!'
15As I looked at the living creatures, I saw one wheel on the ground beside each of the four living creatures.
22The broken horn was replaced by four other horns that arose in its place. These represent four kingdoms that will emerge from that nation, but they will not have its power.

1In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar, a vision appeared to me, I, Daniel, after the one that had already appeared to me at the beginning.
6As I looked closely at it, I noticed four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles, and birds of the air.
8Under their wings on their four sides were human hands. All four of them had faces and wings.
1And I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, 'Come and see.'
7Then the angel said to me, 'Why are you amazed? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast with the seven heads and ten horns that carries her.'
