1In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar, a vision appeared to me, I, Daniel, after the one that had already appeared to me at the beginning.
2In the vision I saw myself in the citadel of Susa, which is in the province of Elam. In the vision, I was beside the Ulai canal.
3I looked up, and there before me was a ram with two high horns standing beside the canal. One horn was higher than the other, and the higher one grew later.
8I heard but did not understand. So I asked, "My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?"
9He replied, "Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end."
15I, Daniel, was troubled in my spirit within me, and the visions of my head alarmed me.
16I approached one of those standing there and asked him the truth about all this. So he told me and revealed the interpretation of these things.
7I, Daniel, was the only one who saw the vision. The men who were with me did not see it, but they were overwhelmed with such terror that they ran away to hide.
8So I was left alone, staring at this great vision. I had no strength left. My face turned deathly pale, and I could not retain my strength.

10A hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees.
11He said to me, 'Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, understand the words that I am speaking to you. Stand upright, for I have now been sent to you.' When he said this to me, I stood up, trembling.
12Then he said, 'Do not be afraid, Daniel. From the first day that you set your heart to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come because of your words.'
14Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision concerns the days yet to come.
15While he was speaking to me with these words, I bowed my face to the ground and became speechless.
16Then one who looked like a man touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and began to speak. I said to the one standing before me, 'My lord, because of the vision my pains have overwhelmed me, and I have no strength left.'
26The vision of the evenings and mornings that has been spoken is true. But seal up the vision, for it concerns the distant future.
27I, Daniel, was exhausted and lay ill for several days. Then I got up and went about the king’s business, but I was appalled by the vision, for it was beyond understanding.

20Then he said, 'Do you know why I have come to you? Soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I leave, the prince of Greece will come.'
6While the man was standing beside me, I heard someone speaking to me from inside the house.
16At the end of seven days, the word of the LORD came to me, saying:
8The tree grew large and strong, its top reached the heavens, and it was visible to the ends of the earth.
9Its leaves were beautiful, its fruit abundant, and it provided food for all. The beasts of the field found shade under it, the birds of the heavens lived in its branches, and every creature was fed from it.
19The angel answered him, 'I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and bring to you this good news.'
26The king said to Daniel, who was also called Belteshazzar, "Are you able to make known to me the dream which I saw and its interpretation?"

4The man said to me, 'Son of man, look with your eyes, hear with your ears, and pay attention to everything I am going to show you, for this is why you have been brought here. Declare everything you see to the house of Israel.'
24Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you: Break off your sins by pursuing righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the oppressed. Perhaps there will be a lengthening of your prosperity.
28However, there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the latter days. Your dream and the visions in your mind as you lay on your bed are as follows.
19Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision during the night. And Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
13Let his mind be changed from that of a human, and let the mind of a beast be given to him, and let seven periods of time pass over him.
