23 If there is a young woman who is a virgin betrothed to a man, and another man finds her in the city and lies with her,

24 then you shall bring both of them to the gate of that city and stone them to death: the young woman because she did not cry out in the city, and the man because he violated another man’s wife. You must purge the evil from among you.

25 But if a man finds a betrothed young woman in the countryside, and forces her and lies with her, only the man who has done this shall die.

26 You shall do nothing to the young woman; she has committed no sin deserving death. This case is like when a man rises against his neighbor and murders him.

13 If a man marries a woman, has relations with her, and then turns against her,

14 accusing her of misconduct and giving her a bad name by saying, 'I married this woman, but when I came to her, I did not find proof of her virginity,'

15 then the young woman’s father and mother shall bring the proof of her virginity to the elders at the gate of the town.

16 The father shall say to the elders, 'I gave my daughter to this man to be his wife, and now he has turned against her.'

17 And now he has made false accusations against her, saying, 'I did not find your daughter to be a virgin.' But here is the evidence of my daughter's virginity.' Then they shall spread out the cloth before the elders of the city.

18 The elders of that city shall take the man and discipline him.

19 They shall fine him a hundred shekels of silver and give them to the young woman's father, because this man has given an Israelite virgin a bad name. She shall remain his wife, and he can never divorce her as long as he lives.

20 But if the accusation is true and there is no proof of the young woman's virginity,

21 then they shall bring the young woman to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones. She has committed a disgraceful act in Israel by being promiscuous while in her father’s house. You must purge the evil from among you.

36 If anyone is worried that he might not be acting honorably toward the virgin he is engaged to, and if his passions are strong and he feels it must be so, let him do as he wants. He is not sinning; they should marry.

37 But the man who has settled the matter in his own mind, who is under no compulsion but has control over his own will, and who has made up his mind not to marry the virgin—this man also does the right thing.

38 So then, the one who marries the virgin does right, but the one who does not marry her does better.
