    12 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Say to Aaron, 'Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the ground, and it will become gnats throughout the land of Egypt.'"

    13 They did as the LORD commanded. When Aaron stretched out his hand with his staff and struck the dust of the ground, gnats came on people and animals. All the dust in the land of Egypt turned into gnats.

    14 The magicians tried to produce gnats by their secret arts, but they could not. And the gnats were on people and animals.
