  • Num 6:9-9 : 9 If someone dies suddenly beside them, making their head of dedication unclean, they must shave their head on the day of their purification—the seventh day. 10 On the eighth day, they are to bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. 11 The priest shall offer one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering to make atonement for them, because they sinned due to the dead body. On that day, they must rededicate their head.
  • Ezek 44:17 : 17 When they enter the gates of the inner court, they are to wear linen garments; they must not wear any wool while ministering at the gates of the inner court or inside the temple.
  • Heb 7:26-28 : 26 Such a high priest truly meets our need: one who is holy, innocent, undefiled, separate from sinners, and exalted above the heavens. 27 He does not need to offer sacrifices every day, as high priests do—first for their own sins and then for the sins of the people. He did this once for all when he offered himself. 28 For the law appoints men who are weak as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son, who has been made perfect forever.
  • Lev 4:3-9 : 3 if the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt upon the people, he must offer a young bull without defect to the LORD as a sin offering for the sin he has committed. 4 He shall bring the bull to the entrance of the tent of meeting before the LORD, lay his hand on the bull’s head, and slaughter it before the LORD. 5 Then the anointed priest is to take some of the bull’s blood and bring it into the tent of meeting. 6 The priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before the LORD, in front of the veil of the sanctuary. 7 The priest is to put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense before the LORD in the tent of meeting, and he shall pour out all the remaining blood of the bull at the base of the altar for burnt offerings, which is at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 8 He shall remove all the fat from the bull of the sin offering—the fat that covers the inner parts or is on them, 9 both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which he will remove along with the kidneys. 10 He shall do this just as it is done with the fat of a fellowship offering, and the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering. 11 But the hide of the bull, all its flesh, its head, its legs, its internal organs, and its dung— 12 the entire bull he must take outside the camp to a clean place, to the ash heap, and burn it on a wood fire. It must be burned on the ash heap. 13 If the entire assembly of Israel sins unintentionally and the matter escapes the notice of the congregation by violating one of the LORD’s commands, which should not be done, they are guilty. 14 When the sin they committed becomes known, the assembly shall offer a young bull as a sin offering and bring it before the tent of meeting. 15 The elders of the congregation are to lay their hands on the bull’s head before the LORD, and it shall be slaughtered before the LORD. 16 Then the anointed priest shall bring some of the bull’s blood into the tent of meeting. 17 The priest will dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before the LORD in front of the veil. 18 He is to put some of the blood on the horns of the altar that is before the LORD in the tent of meeting. He shall then pour out the remaining blood at the base of the altar for burnt offerings, which is at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 19 The priest shall remove all the fat from it and burn it on the altar. 20 He shall do with this bull just as he did with the sin offering bull; in this way, the priest will make atonement for them, and they will be forgiven. 21 Then he must take the bull outside the camp and burn it as he burned the first bull; it is the sin offering for the assembly. 22 When a leader sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the commands of the LORD his God, he becomes guilty. 23 When he becomes aware of the sin he has committed, he must bring as his offering a male goat without defect. 24 He shall lay his hand on the goat’s head and slaughter it at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered before the LORD. It is a sin offering. 25 The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offerings. Then he shall pour out all the rest of its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offerings. 26 He shall burn all the fat on the altar, just as the fat of the peace offerings. In this way, the priest will make atonement for the man's sin, and he will be forgiven. 27 If any individual from among the common people sins unintentionally by violating a command of the LORD that should not be done and becomes guilty, 28 when they become aware of the sin they have committed, they must bring as an offering a female goat without defect for the sin they have committed. 29 They are to lay their hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it at the place of the burnt offering. 30 The priest shall take some of its blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offerings, and he shall pour out all the remaining blood at the base of the altar. 31 He shall remove all its fat, just as the fat is removed from the peace offerings. The priest shall burn it on the altar as a pleasing aroma to the LORD. In this way, the priest will make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven. 32 If they bring a lamb as their sin offering, it must be a female without defect. 33 They are to lay their hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it as a sin offering in the place where the burnt offerings are slaughtered. 34 The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offerings. Then he shall pour out all the rest of its blood at the base of the altar. 35 He shall remove all its fat, as the fat is removed from the lamb of the fellowship offering, and the priest shall burn it on the altar as a food offering to the LORD made by fire. In this way, the priest will make atonement for the person’s sin, and they will be forgiven.
  • Lev 8:14-36 : 14 Moses brought forward the bull for the sin offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head. 15 Moses slaughtered the bull, took some of its blood, and with his finger applied it to the horns of the altar on all sides, purifying the altar. He poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar to consecrate it, making atonement for it. 16 Moses took all the fat that was on the entrails, the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys with their fat, and burned them on the altar. 17 As for the rest of the bull—its hide, its flesh, and its dung—he burned it outside the camp, as the Lord had commanded Moses. 18 Moses presented the ram for the burnt offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head. 19 Moses slaughtered the ram and splashed the blood on all sides of the altar. 20 He cut the ram into pieces and burned the head, the pieces, and the fat. 21 He washed the entrails and the legs with water and burned the whole ram on the altar as a burnt offering, a pleasing aroma, a fire offering to the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses. 22 Moses presented the second ram, the ram of ordination, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head. 23 Moses slaughtered the ram and took some of its blood, applying it to the lobe of Aaron’s right ear, the thumb of his right hand, and the big toe of his right foot. 24 Then Moses brought forward Aaron’s sons and applied some of the blood to the lobes of their right ears, the thumbs of their right hands, and the big toes of their right feet. He splashed the remaining blood on all sides of the altar. 25 Moses took the fat, the fat tail, all the fat around the entrails, the lobe of the liver, the two kidneys with their fat, and the right thigh. 26 From the basket of unleavened bread that was before the Lord, Moses took one unleavened cake, one cake of bread made with oil, and one wafer. He placed them on the fat portions and on the right thigh. 27 He put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and waved them as a presentation offering before the Lord. 28 Then Moses took them back from their hands and burned them on the altar along with the burnt offering. They were an ordination offering, a pleasing aroma, a fire offering to the Lord. 29 Moses took the breast and waved it as a presentation offering before the Lord. It was Moses' portion of the ram of ordination, as the Lord had commanded him. 30 Moses took some of the anointing oil and some of the blood from the altar and sprinkled them on Aaron and his garments, as well as on his sons and their garments. So he consecrated Aaron, his garments, his sons, and their garments. 31 Moses said to Aaron and his sons, "Boil the meat at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting and eat it there along with the bread from the basket of ordination, as I commanded, saying, 'Aaron and his sons are to eat it.' 32 Burn up the remainder of the meat and bread in the fire. 33 You must not leave the entrance to the Tent of Meeting for seven days, until the days of your ordination are completed, because it will take seven days to ordain you. 34 The Lord commanded what has been done today in order to make atonement for you. 35 You must remain at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting day and night for seven days and keep the Lord's charge so that you will not die, for this is what I was commanded. 36 Aaron and his sons did everything the Lord had commanded through Moses.
