Genesis 18:31
Abraham said, 'Now that I have ventured to speak to the Lord, suppose twenty are found there.' He answered, 'For the sake of twenty, I will not destroy it.'

26The LORD replied, 'If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the entire place for their sake.'
27Then Abraham answered, 'I have ventured to speak to the Lord, though I am but dust and ashes.
28'Suppose the fifty righteous people lack five. Will You destroy the entire city for lack of five?' He replied, 'If I find forty-five there, I will not destroy it.'
29Once again Abraham spoke to Him, 'What if forty are found there?' He answered, 'For the sake of forty, I will not do it.'
30Then Abraham said, 'May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak. What if thirty are found there?' He replied, 'I will not do it if I find thirty there.'
32Finally, he said, 'May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if ten are found there?' He answered, 'For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.'
33When the LORD had finished speaking with Abraham, He departed, and Abraham returned to his place.
17As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, "Flee for your lives! Don’t look back, and don’t stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains, or you will be swept away!"
18But Lot said to them, "No, my lords, please!"
19"Your servant has found favor in your eyes, and you have shown great kindness to me by sparing my life. But I can’t flee to the mountains; this disaster will overtake me, and I’ll die.
20Look, here is a town near enough to run to, and it is small. Let me flee to it—it is very small, isn’t it? Then my life will be spared."
21He said to him, "Very well, I will grant this request too; I will not overthrow the town you speak of.
22But flee there quickly, because I cannot do anything until you reach it." (That is why the town was called Zoar.)
17Then the LORD said, 'Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?'
2Looking up, he saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he ran from the entrance of the tent to meet them and bowed down to the ground.
3He said, 'My Lord, if I have found favor in Your sight, please do not pass by Your servant.'
28He looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah and the entire plain, and he saw that smoke was rising from the land like smoke from a furnace.
29So it came to pass when God destroyed the cities of the plain, he remembered Abraham and brought Lot out from the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities where Lot had lived.
30I searched for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before me on behalf of the land so that I would not destroy it, but I found no one.
7He said, "No, my brothers. Please, don’t do this wicked thing.
8Look, I have two daughters who have never been with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do to them whatever seems good to you. But don’t do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof."
17Gideon replied, 'If I have found favor in your sight, give me a sign that it is really you speaking to me.'
13because we are about to destroy this place. The outcry to the LORD against its people is so great that he has sent us to destroy it."
11Abraham replied, 'I thought, Surely there is no fear of God in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.'
12Then he prayed, "Lord, God of my master Abraham, please grant me success today and show kindness to my master Abraham."
25So I fell down before the LORD for forty days and forty nights, just as I had done before, because the LORD had said he would destroy you.
20He also instructed the second, the third, and all those who followed the herds: 'This is what you are to say to Esau when you meet him.'
9Who knows? God may turn and relent and withdraw His fierce anger, so that we will not perish.”
49Now if you are willing to show kindness and faithfulness to my master, tell me. If not, tell me, so that I may turn to the right or to the left.
4Now Abimelech had not approached her, so he said, 'Lord, will you destroy a nation even if it is innocent?'

14So the LORD relented concerning the disaster He had said He would bring on His people.
8But if that nation I have warned repents of its evil, then I will relent concerning the disaster I had planned to bring upon it.
2He said, "Please, my lords, turn aside to your servant’s house. Spend the night and wash your feet; then you can rise early and be on your way." But they said, "No, we will spend the night in the square."
