Then Joseph said to the people, 'Now that I have bought you and your land for Pharaoh, here is seed for you to sow in the land.'

26So Joseph established it as a law in Egypt to this day: A fifth of the produce belongs to Pharaoh. Only the land of the priests did not become Pharaoh’s.

57And people from all the surrounding lands came to Egypt to buy grain from Joseph, because the famine was severe in all the lands.
55When all Egypt began to feel the famine, the people cried out to Pharaoh for food. Pharaoh told all the Egyptians, 'Go to Joseph and do whatever he tells you.'
1So Joseph went and told Pharaoh, 'My father, my brothers, their flocks, their herds, and everything they own have come from the land of Canaan, and they are now in the region of Goshen.'
2And he said, 'Look, I have heard there is grain in Egypt. Go down there and buy some for us, so that we may live and not die.'
3Then ten of Joseph's brothers went down to buy grain from Egypt.
8So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God. He made me like a father to Pharaoh, lord over all his household, and a ruler throughout Egypt.
4He said to me, 'I am about to make you fruitful and multiply you. I will make you a community of peoples, and I will give this land to your descendants after you as a permanent possession.'
28When the Midianite merchants passed by, they pulled Joseph up out of the pit and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty pieces of silver. And they took Joseph to Egypt.
