Then the altar will become most holy, and whatever touches the altar will be holy. 38 This is what you are to offer on the altar regularly each day: two year-old lambs, one in the morning and the other at twilight. 39 Offer one lamb in the morning, and offer the second lamb at twilight. 40 With the first lamb, offer a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a quarter of a hin of pressed oil, and a quarter of a hin of wine as a drink offering. 41 Offer the second lamb at twilight, together with the same grain offering and drink offering as in the morning, for a soothing aroma, an offering by fire to the Lord. 42 This will be a regular burnt offering throughout your generations at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting before the Lord, where I will meet you to speak with you.
  • Lev 4:3-9 : 3 if the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt upon the people, he must offer a young bull without defect to the LORD as a sin offering for the sin he has committed. 4 He shall bring the bull to the entrance of the tent of meeting before the LORD, lay his hand on the bull’s head, and slaughter it before the LORD. 5 Then the anointed priest is to take some of the bull’s blood and bring it into the tent of meeting. 6 The priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before the LORD, in front of the veil of the sanctuary. 7 The priest is to put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense before the LORD in the tent of meeting, and he shall pour out all the remaining blood of the bull at the base of the altar for burnt offerings, which is at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 8 He shall remove all the fat from the bull of the sin offering—the fat that covers the inner parts or is on them, 9 both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which he will remove along with the kidneys. 10 He shall do this just as it is done with the fat of a fellowship offering, and the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering. 11 But the hide of the bull, all its flesh, its head, its legs, its internal organs, and its dung— 12 the entire bull he must take outside the camp to a clean place, to the ash heap, and burn it on a wood fire. It must be burned on the ash heap. 13 If the entire assembly of Israel sins unintentionally and the matter escapes the notice of the congregation by violating one of the LORD’s commands, which should not be done, they are guilty. 14 When the sin they committed becomes known, the assembly shall offer a young bull as a sin offering and bring it before the tent of meeting. 15 The elders of the congregation are to lay their hands on the bull’s head before the LORD, and it shall be slaughtered before the LORD. 16 Then the anointed priest shall bring some of the bull’s blood into the tent of meeting. 17 The priest will dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before the LORD in front of the veil. 18 He is to put some of the blood on the horns of the altar that is before the LORD in the tent of meeting. He shall then pour out the remaining blood at the base of the altar for burnt offerings, which is at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 19 The priest shall remove all the fat from it and burn it on the altar. 20 He shall do with this bull just as he did with the sin offering bull; in this way, the priest will make atonement for them, and they will be forgiven. 21 Then he must take the bull outside the camp and burn it as he burned the first bull; it is the sin offering for the assembly. 22 When a leader sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the commands of the LORD his God, he becomes guilty. 23 When he becomes aware of the sin he has committed, he must bring as his offering a male goat without defect. 24 He shall lay his hand on the goat’s head and slaughter it at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered before the LORD. It is a sin offering. 25 The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offerings. Then he shall pour out all the rest of its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offerings. 26 He shall burn all the fat on the altar, just as the fat of the peace offerings. In this way, the priest will make atonement for the man's sin, and he will be forgiven. 27 If any individual from among the common people sins unintentionally by violating a command of the LORD that should not be done and becomes guilty, 28 when they become aware of the sin they have committed, they must bring as an offering a female goat without defect for the sin they have committed. 29 They are to lay their hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it at the place of the burnt offering. 30 The priest shall take some of its blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offerings, and he shall pour out all the remaining blood at the base of the altar. 31 He shall remove all its fat, just as the fat is removed from the peace offerings. The priest shall burn it on the altar as a pleasing aroma to the LORD. In this way, the priest will make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven. 32 If they bring a lamb as their sin offering, it must be a female without defect. 33 They are to lay their hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it as a sin offering in the place where the burnt offerings are slaughtered. 34 The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offerings. Then he shall pour out all the rest of its blood at the base of the altar. 35 He shall remove all its fat, as the fat is removed from the lamb of the fellowship offering, and the priest shall burn it on the altar as a food offering to the LORD made by fire. In this way, the priest will make atonement for the person’s sin, and they will be forgiven.
  • Lev 9:7-9 : 7 Moses then said to Aaron, 'Come to the altar and offer your sin offering and your burnt offering, making atonement for yourself and for the people. Present the people’s offering and make atonement for them as the LORD has commanded.' 8 So Aaron came to the altar and slaughtered the calf of the sin offering that was for himself. 9 Aaron's sons brought the blood to him. He dipped his finger in the blood and put it on the horns of the altar. Then he poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. 10 He burned the fat, the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver from the sin offering on the altar, as the LORD had commanded Moses. 11 But the flesh and the hide he burned with fire outside the camp. 12 Then Aaron slaughtered the burnt offering. His sons brought him the blood, and he dashed it against all sides of the altar. 13 They brought the burnt offering to him, piece by piece, including the head, and he burned them on the altar. 14 He washed the entrails and the legs and burned them on the altar along with the burnt offering. 15 Aaron presented the people's offering, took the goat for the sin offering that was for the people, slaughtered it, and offered it as a sin offering like the first one. 16 He presented the burnt offering and offered it according to the prescribed manner. 17 He presented the grain offering, took a handful of it, and burned it on the altar in addition to the morning burnt offering. 18 Then he slaughtered the ox and the ram, the sacrifice of the peace offerings that were for the people. Aaron's sons brought him the blood, which he splashed around the altar. 19 They also brought the fat portions from the ox and the ram—the fat tail, the fat covering, the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver— 20 and they placed the fat portions on the breasts. Aaron then burned the fat portions on the altar. 21 Aaron waved the breasts and the right thigh as a wave offering before the LORD, as Moses had commanded. 22 Then Aaron raised his hands toward the people and blessed them. After offering the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, he stepped down. 23 Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting. When they came out, they blessed the people, and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people. 24 Fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. When all the people saw it, they shouted for joy and fell facedown.
